Guest guest
I could be wrong, but I think WestSoy Rice milk has as much calcium as regular milk. Also getting like orange juice with calcium. I would stick to the diet. Just because testing showed no allergy, it isn't 100% accurate. Give the diet time and slowly added it back in and see if you see any negative results. The black circles under his eyes, intolerance to something. Tammy question about casein...attn.: Dana or anyone pls. My son is GFCF. With the IgG the casein results came back negative, he is not allergic. Does this mean that I can incorporate back casein to his diet? I would really love to. His DAN! wants him 100% GFCF. I am worried that he does not take enough calcium. We give him extra calcium but I find him really pale and he has black circles under his eyes. This became more obvious since we started his protocol this past week, slowly adding one supplement at a time. We still have 4 more to go, last being the b12 shots which will be done only in 3 weeks approx. Thanks very much for all your help. Guest guest
Negative IgG doesn't necessarily mean much- he could be sensitive still, or maybe not. The reason for GF/CF isn't an allergy (often), it's that the proteins gluten and casein aren't fully broken down in some kids' guts and if the gut is also leaky then these partially digested peptides can get into the bloodstream and function as opiods, wreaking havoc. If you do GF/CF for awhile and see how much it helps him, then maybe you could try a challenge with dairy to see if he reacts. Also, I looked into the calcium issue when my son went GF/CF. An article appeared in the March 2005 issue of the journal Pediatrics (which is the journal of the American Pediatric Association) that reviewed ALL the scientific literature around the question of calcium and bone health. The article found that there is NO scientific evidence to support the claim that dairy intake in childhood has ANY affect on bone density or health, and only minimal evidence to support the claim that calcium intake from any source has anything to do with bone health or density. Calcium is of course good to get for many reasons, but the usual reason we are given is the whole " milk builds strong bones " line. There are so many good sources of calcium and good calcium supps out there. -Sierra > > I could be wrong, but I think WestSoy Rice milk has as much calcium as > regular milk. Does this mean that I can incorporate back casein to his diet? Definitely a possibility. >>find him really pale and he has black circles under his eyes. This is a sign of food intolerance, especially phenols. Can mean other things also, but phenol intolerance is the most common http://www.danasview.net/phenol.htm >> This became more obvious since we started his protocol this past week, slowly adding one supplement at a time. Certain vitamins can cause this. Try giving the vitamins/supplements with No-Fenol enzyme, see if that helps. Dana
Guest guest
I personally would be more concerned about magnesium than calcium at this point. Do a little research on Borden glue and the company behind it. The chemical division split from the dairy division a while back so there wouldn't be conflict. Major adhesives are made from casein, gluten, soy and corn. Interesting how these are four of the top allergens in our species too. > > > My son is GFCF.
