Guest guest
Wow, that was interesting about the Tylenol! We had switched to Tylenol for the family because we believe that Motrin was a big contributor to my ASD son's regression (although we have never given ASD son any pain med since his reaction to Motrin). I've been meaning to post to see if anyone else had this experience with Motrin. My son has had no vaccines, no antibiotics, no other meds (he was even born at home). He was extremely healthy and showed no food sensitivities or gut issues as an infant. He was an early talker (began talking at 9 months). He had terrible teething pain, and to get some sleep we gave him lots of Motrin. I mean we gave him the right dose, but we gave it to him night after night for months. We had a feeling it was a bad idea, but we were desperate for sleep. At some point we realized that he had lost all his words and didn't even try to communicate. He seemed deaf. You all know the deal. Since then I've heard so many stories about Ibuprofen causing gut damage, which is my son's primary physical issue. My mom's friend nearly died from ibuprofen-induced stomach hemorage (the ER doc told her that people die from ibuprofen that way every year). Another friend, who is training as a marathon runner, said that all the runners in a recent race were given a strict warning not to use ibuprofen excessively (apparently runners often take it routinely for body aches, they call it vitamin I) because of so many people having gut damage result. On the package insert is says it can cause leaky gut. I don't think that Motrin is the only reason that ds regressed, but I'm convinced that he did develop his leaky gut at that time and that the leaky gut has then caused more problems. Now I know not to wish that we'd used Tylenol instead! -Sierra > > Wow.... THANK YOU SO MUCH....important information.. > We are about 4-5 months into the biomedics, gfcf...and we started slow with the diet (so difficult), then slowly on my own, by reading, surfing the net, I started him with the enzymes, then the probiotics, the multivitamins, and eventually got our test results back from our DAN! and this is the first week that we have incorporated slowly but surely all the other biomedics, we still have about 4 to incorporate (including the b12 shots) to complete his custom made protocol. My son was diagnosed with moderate autism at about 6 yrs old (he is 12 yrs old now). I lost many years due to the fact that the docs, peds had installed in our heads, we had no hope...until I saw McCarthy on CNN.....saying all that, today, my son is high functioning today, and, each day is a better day, we see so many gains..hopefully he will loose his diagnosis and be one of the recovered kids....like the saying goes " it is never too late " ...my son is living proof of that. > > Thanks again for this importnat info... >
Guest guest
I dont mean to interupt, but you said your son never had any vaccines/antibiotics/meds. Is this NEVER not even once? And he is spectrum? Occaisionally this comes up, a parent stating that there child has never had any of these. I find this very interesting!! Can you tell me if your family drinks tap water, around pesticides ever, do you eat organic or store processed, in public schools/daycare? I sure hope you dont mind me asking, but this is out of the norm of what some of us consider to be the culprit of our childrens issues! Just trying to understand all this!!
