Guest guest
Ann - what is GSE??? help wendy GSE questionGot a question....At http://www.nutriteam.com/faq.htm it says " There is no evidence that any type of micro-organism has ever developed a resistance to Citricidal or Nutribiotic grapefruit extracts. In fact it is believed that such resistance is not possible because of GSE's mode of activity. Because GSE actually disrupts the cytoplasmic membrane, changes in genetic make-up in the organism would be irrelevant. What is still not known is how GSE can be effective against viruses, inasmuch as a virus has no cell membrane of its own. " Does this mean I don't have to rotate it? There are testimonials on the site from people who've apparently cleared candida with a month's continuous GSE use, and given my die-off I'm tempted to try it, but then again I'm scared of making the beasts resistant to my no. 1 weapon.....what shall I do?? Has anyone tried continuous GSE? I'm on a 4-day rotation of it and caprylic acid at the moment, so I've got until (counting on fingers) Sunday to decide whether to stay with it or not!Dilemmas, dilemmas...!Ann

Guest guest
GSE question Hi all, In February I gave my son Diflucan for yeast per our doctor from Pfeiffer. I did not see much of an improvement in the foggy brain etc. and didn't see any die off either other than a rash under his bottom lip which I think I read somewhere that it could be considered die off? Anyway, he has now been doing a lot of letter air writing and we were back to his Pfeiffer doctor last week and they have added SAMe and Primer IV into the mix which I think was primarily for focus and concentration but I was hoping it may help with the airwriting since I had removed SAMe a week or two before he started this stimming in March. I know that I have read a lot of posts about having great luck with GSE for fighting yeast and was thinking of trying it on my own but read on Danasview that if there is no yeast present that it may cause bad bacteria. Not sure if I should try it and would appreciate any input or any thoughts if it could be something else. He is 11 yrs old and weighs 93 lbs which means he gained around 20 lbs and 3 inches in the past year due to puberty so I am wondering if it may be that he is not getting enough zinc or something else given the prescribed compound is based on last years size (until his new labs come back). Any thoughts on that either? Thanks for any help, Tami
Guest guest
Hi Tami, I am not sure what you are dealing with but I have a few questions and comments on what has worked for us. How are his bowels? Why do you suspect yeast? Have you considered viral issues? A lot of kids have been exposed to people sick especially this time of year and some don't show visable signs but still are effected. Did you make changes in his protocal before the increase in stimming? I do not have any experience with SAMe or Primer IV. None of this maybe knew but I thought I would share what has been helpful for us. For yeast issues I always like to start with enzymes. Formulations to try are Candex, Candidase from Enzymedica or CDX from Theramedix which is the professional grade from Enzymedica. Give them on an empty stomach and they help break down the cell walls of the yeast. Follow it up with an antifungal such as GSE or O of O a half hour latter for more effectiveness. Lots of people have had success with GSE but some people have problems with it being too phenolic. My son can tolerate GSE with No- Fenol. We have found that No-Fenol on an empty stomach helps somewhat with yeast as well. My kids can tolerate probiotics so I give them two hours apart from the antifungal to maintain good gut flora. Our doctor says to give lots of probiotics to blast the yeast out. We have found especially when treating viral issues that bacteria can flare up and have had a lot of success with SPS which is an enzyme formulation from Theramedix. Oil of Oregano works well for our family. We use it as an antifungal and it helps with viral issues as well. I believe some has said that it has antibacterial properties. We have had wonderful experience with addressing yeast using Epicor. Hang in there and keep asking questions. For my kids a combination of things are usually going on. I love this group. It has saved me a lot of time, money and grief. Melinda > > > GSE question > > > Hi all, > > In February I gave my son Diflucan for yeast per our doctor from Pfeiffer. Guest guest
>>Anyway, he has now been doing a lot of letter air writing At my house, this was eliminated with folic acid, mB12, and TMG, in that order. >>I know that I have read a lot of posts about having great luck with GSE for fighting yeast and was thinking of trying it on my own but read on Danasview that if there is no yeast present that it may cause bad bacteria. If you are not sure there is yeast, try adding biotin first. >>it may be that he is not getting enough zinc or something else given the prescribed compound is based on last years size (until his new labs come back). Any thoughts on that either? Or, conversely, he might not need those doses any more, they might be too high. Dana
Guest guest
Hi Tami! Congratulations on your progress. Check here for what viral issues might look like in a child. http://www.danasview.net/virfile.htm Our daughter had a very high viral load. Before her MMR we thought she was doing well. She received her MMR a month after her two year birthday and was diagnosed eight months latter. We saw nice results starting with vitamin C. A year after anti-viral treatment we checked her tithers and she had five times the expected immune reaction to her MMR. That is after she had been on anti-virals for at least a year. Her HHV-6 and Cytomeglavirus number were *very, very* high! We discovered that even tho she was fully immunized she did not have immunity to varicella or polio. More recently, another 16 months latter we checked her tithers again and they are improved and she is doing much better. We are still working on viruses tho. IMO anti- virals helped with a lot of things including awareness, eye-contact, cognition, stimming and toe walking. She has required other things too such as specific nutrients, changing diet and addressing yeast, bacteria and heavy metals. Good to hear from you! Guest guest
> > Thank you for the response. I tried adding folic acid per your suggestion a month or so ago (he already takes the TMG, MB12 and the Biotin is in his compound) but that didn't help either. TMG, mB12, and folic all required carnitine for proper absorption, so you can try adding that. >>Since he is already on the Biotin and has been for years would it be ok to start the GSE then? You can try giving one drop in the morning, see if that helps. > I hadn't thought about the doses being too high....interesting. Once a supplement was no longer needed, it tended to cause the same problems that initially it had eliminated. Dana
Guest guest
My son's yeast is high again (spinning, hyperactivity, chewing on things etc), so we are back on our Biotin and GSE routine. I slowly introduce Biotin over a week then add GSE. I only start with 2 drops of GSE a day mixed in his food. After 3 days, he develops an extremely high fever, throws up. and sleeps for 2 days straight. I stop the sups while sick, as he will not eat or drink. Could the GSE be causing this reaction? Is this a good or bad thing? Any Suggestions? TIA Marie

Is this a good or bad thing? It may be too-fast die off. How much biotin do you give? Try increasing the biotin and only give 1 drop GSE. Guest guest
Dana or anyone- i'm trying to read between the lines on all of these anti fungal questions. when working on yeast is the biotin more or as important as the antifungal (we are currently on nystatin?) Dana you had also mentioned in an email that probiotics pull Mg (I think that is what you said) which is why I think my andrew got constipated when taking them. So does biotin constipate? I'm thinking of backing off on the miralax which i hate...adding biotin along w/ the antifungal.. i have an appointment (via phone) with Dorfman next week and trying to pull together my thoughts for that.
