Guest guest
Listmates: The Great Plains Laboratory is seeking qualified individuals to participate in a reference range study. We are looking for children and adults, (ages 2-83) to help us update or normal ranges for neuro-peptides and organic acids in the urine. We especially need " normal " (or typical) children to qualify for this study due to the fact that many of our patients are children on the Autistic spectrum. Our goal is to test as many as 100 children age 2-13, (80 boys and 20 girls) and 100 individuals age 14-83, (50% males and 50% females). The data we collect will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used for medical and scientific purposes that will not identify you or your child in any way. Below is the list of qualified spaces left for this study and they will fill up quickly. If you have or are acquainted with children that are clearly qualified as " typical " (see FAQ's below), please contact ASAP to reserve your place in the study because it is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. 5 spaces for men ages 13-82 2 spaces for girls ages 2-6 30 spaces for boys ages 2-6 30 spaces for boys ages 7-12 We are offering ONE FREE Organic Acids Test Certificate (a $240.00 value) for each qualified specimen we obtain for the study. This test offers the most complete and accurate evaluation of certain opportunistic pathogens and can determine certain vitamin deficiencies, problems in energy metabolism, oxidative stress, and many other factors not routinely tested. The free Organic Acid Test is good for 6 months and can be used for any person you choose. To qualify, the participant must fulfill the criteria for " normal " (or typical) as defined by the parameters in the attached document and give permission to use your results in this study. The data provided in this study will be used to refine diagnostic testing which helps aid nutritional approaches to the treatment of disease. All identifying information will be removed from the final results and posted to our website (www.greatplainslaboratory.com <http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/> ). Your participation is greatly appreciated. The more data we can collect, the more meaningful our results will be. Please carefully read the information attached and call Bonovich at 913-341-8949 or email at jbonovich@... to see if spots are still available. Availability is limited so please to not hesitate to call. You will receive a certificate for a FREE Organic Acid Test (OAT) for the person or child of your choice ($240.00) value for every qualified sample provided. You can submit more than one sample and you will receive a FREE Organic Acid Test certificate for every qualifying submission. If the FREE OAT is used on an individual with Autism, you will have the opportunity to participate in an additional research study. How can an Organic Acid Test be useful? The Great Plains Laboratory Organic Acid Test (OAT) offers the most complete and accurate evaluation of intestinal microorganisms, such as yeast and bacteria. Abnormal toxic metabolites of these microorganisms can cause or worsen behavior disorders, cause hyperactivity, aggressiveness and affect energy levels and immune functioning. Deficiencies of vitamins, antioxidants, amino acid metabolites or fatty acid metabolites evaluated in the OAT can also affect the physical and psychological condition, cause fatigue and make the patient more vulnerable to infections and viruses. This Organic Acid Test may help determine the underlying conditions that may be causing symptoms of the following illnesses: Anxiety, gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhea or constipation, Fibromyalgia, depression, learning difficulties, attention deficit disorders, recurrent infections, Alzheimer's disease, chronic fatigue, colitis, Crohn's disease, Down's syndrome, multiple sclerosis, endometriosis, AIDS, autism and other developmental disorders. Treatments are recommended that may result in significant improvement of symptoms. Does the " normal " individual have to be in my family? No. You can submit individuals from your extended family, friends or neighbors and receive a FREE OAT certificate to use on any person you would like. We would appreciate you sharing this information to other families in the Kansas City area who can also benefit from the free Organic Acid Test. Just remember, parents/caregivers must correctly read these instructions, call to verify and reserve any open spots, follow all instructions and bring the completed Questionnaire to The Great Plains Laboratory along with the urine sample in order to qualify for a FREE test certificate. Bonovich is the contact person for this study and can be reached at 913-341-8949 or jbonovich@.... Will any information be required for the person who is receiving the FREE Organic Acid Test? Yes, but only if the person receiving the free test is on the Autistic Spectrum, which includes Individual with AD(H)D. We are also collecting important data on these Individual and would like to use their test data to add to another important research study. (Please see attached for more information). We will ask you to fill out an accompanying form along with permission to use the child's data for research purposes. How do I receive the test kits? Contact Bonovich at The Great Plains Laboratory (913-341-8949 or lbonovich@...) and tell her the age and sex of the " normal " individual that you want to participate in the study. If we are still accepting individuals in the given age range, you will need to provide your mailing address and phone number. For an individual in diapers, please request pediatric urine collection bags to be included. We will mail the test kits directly to your home at our expense. A study questionnaire will be enclosed which will need to be completed and returned with each urine sample. It is very important that you ONLY submit samples from individuals for the normal range study that truly qualify and do not have any of the issues listed on the previous page. Are there any restrictions that have to be followed prior to collecting the urine sample? Yes. It is important that the individual in the study strictly avoid any forms of apples, pears, grapes, raisins, cranberries, and their juices for a full 24 hours preceding the urine collection. Soy proteins must be avoided one full week prior to the study, (soy bean oil and soy lecithin are okay). How do I collect and return the samples? You will receive complete instructions on sample collection with each test kit and also instructions on the food items that need to be avoided before collecting the urine. It is important to collect the very first morning urine which is the most concentrated urine of the day. If you are using pediatric collection bags, an overnight collection is fine. Please read the enclosed shipping instructions and return the specimen in the enclosed pre-paid FedEx bag. When and how will I receive the results? The Organic Acid and Peptide Test results may take up 2-3 weeks receiving the specimens. Results will be mailed to you at the address provided.
