Both my son and I were entirely dependent on No-Fenol for over a year.

ALA chelation eliminated our phenol issue, so now we don't need

No-Fenol any more.

I never used a liver cleanse.

I would start with 400mcg biotin, and work up from there. Most kids

seem to need 5-10mg per day. My son needed 20mg 3x per day for a

while. It does require magnesium for proper absorption.

Besides fruits, what other types of foods contain phenol. I use fresh tomatos

and tomato sauces and pastes in my ingredients. Would this be considered a

phenol item?

Tomatoes in any form can be a big problem. Not only are they high

phenol, but there are also other reasons some people cannot tolerate

them. Can't remember the reasons off the top of my head, but if I

have time, I'll see if I can find out.

Dana, I have a couple of questions for you...

What is ALA chelation and how will I know if I need to do it? Where

should I look for more information on this topic? Also, are there

any alternatives?

How will I know when I have the right Bioin dose? Also, how much

sulfur is too much? How can I tell when we've had too much?

Thanks Dana!

Chelation is the process of removing heavy metals [like lead and

mercury] from the body. I used ALA, which is a natural chelator you

can find at a local health food store, or online. I have a site

section here

http://www.danasview.net/parent3.htm#chelation

Here is info on a hair test, which is a non-invasive method to

determine if you might have a metal problem

http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_hair_test.html

If your child has intolerance issues to foods, it is likely he has

metal problems.

I don't know about sulfur, altho you can keep track of the high sulfur

foods and see if you notice any trends.

Too much biotin causes headache, so watch for that. Most kids seem to

need 5-10mg per day. It does require magnesium for proper absorption.

Zeolite is not an active chelator. It is advertised as something that

" helps the body eliminate metals on its own " , and it might do that, I

don't know. However, it does not contain active chelating ingredients

[ingredients that can actively pull metals from tissues and organs].

I have no idea, and I actually doubt it, whether the body can remove

mercury from the brain on its own. I know ALA works for that tho.
