Guest guest
I always used the Triaminic orange cough and cold for my kids. Never made them drowsy.....but I think that depends on each kid. It always worked well with them and I would give it to them the very first sign of a runny nose. Nipped it in the bud nicely for us. Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who answered my question on cold medicine. You guys are great! The cold went fast and chicken soup and sleep was the medicine this time. I only take atenolol regularly for arrhythmia but at least now I have the lay of the land in the antihistamine dept. It was good to check in with other heart patients on this. Again, Thanks -- Ken
Guest guest
Hi Cora, My GI reluctantly let me take Coricidin HBP (made especially for people with High Blood Pressure) for 3 days so I could get some sleep Turns out I actually had bronchitis, not just a cold. I won't take anything without checking with my GI or Hep. Sandy C.

Guest guest
Kels uses Dimetapp Dm but only two doses per day, along with Vicks rub, coll vaporizer in her bedroom at night, Ecalyptus aroma therapy tub soak, she also can take Tylenol as needed. She is currently on 1200 mg Calcium per day, along with Flaxseed Oil, 2000 mg Vitamin C per day, 2 childrens multi vitamins. Echinecia Tea isa good one too. Her Liver docs all say this is okay, but like always ask ur Liver doctor(s), we are all in various stages and take different prescripstion medications. Hope U are feeling better soon. Guest guest
I was told to stay away from tylenol, but when I had my liver biopsy - thats what they were going to give me for pain...regular strength tylenol (this after a morphine pump! needless to say the tylenol didn't cut it and had to be put on something stronger) But I stay away from the tylenol based products. Flu season and trying to get a doctor to call you back because you have a cold! HA! Like that happens!!!! grrrrrrr Cora > In a message dated 12/29/2004 2:32:47 PM Eastern Standard Time, > kissemesoftly@y... writes: > , she also can take Tylenol as needed > My doctors have told me to use Tylenol very sparingly. Guest guest
Since my DS will not swallow capsules, I am limited in products for cold and sniffles, cough and fevers. My son is already on Enhansa, which is probably the cause for on/off colds this month, but he needs something to feel better and sleep better. I do give motrin, which helps tremendously. Benadryl helps dry up the post nasal drip and helps with sleep, but I try to avoid it in the daytime. We tried Mucinex sprinkles which helped a lot, but has so much junk in it besides the drug. We already do zinc, GSE, and lots of probiotics, (can't do C due to oxalates) but I'm looking for something to help him feel better, not just to stimulate his immune system to fight or to kill bugs. If it were me, I'd take sudafed, motrin, and maybe some cough syrup to sleep. I ordered some Sinupret, but don't know if that will help or not. What can I use that will help him feel better while fighting these germs? He is 5, 33 pounds, pretty good about taking liquid or chewable stuff as long as it tastes good. Thanks!
