We've done heavy Occupational Therapy with my daughter over the last year (she's

just turned 4) and I'm in agreement here -- OT we've done has brought my

daughter a *long way* -- she could feel little-to-no pain before therapy, but

since she's developed a good sensitivity. We don't have nearly the

sensory-seeking behaviors we did a year ago and she continues to make progress

every month.

We've gone through audio-integration-therapy, lots of swinging, lots of brushing

& joint compression. We saw even more progress when we added in Omega-3s

(Nordic Naturals EPA), which helped our daughter tremendously with attention &

hyperactivity issues.

Just now she's eating breakfast & asked politely for more bread -- I asked her

to finish what she has then I'll get her more -- she said " ok. " I'm just so

grateful to be able to have an exchange like that... no tantrums, no screaming,

no mumbling or jabbering unintelligibly.

We just keep going & going... and when we have regression, I douse her in

probiotics and keep doing that until she's gotten through. Of course, I try to

keep her away from sugar, artificial colors, and anything processed or fried. I

just feel so blessed -- OT's not an end-all answer, but it's certainly been good

for us at progressing a lot of the sensory, balance, and motor skills.

reply posts you received and they are on-target.

> Sensory integration sessions done with and by an OT or COTA with a person DO

treat and mostly eliminate these sensitivities. Your doc or any medical

professional can write you up for a evaluation, and most insurances and Medicaid

cover OT (like PT and ST).
