Guest guest
Dear Parent: At Skyhorse Publishing we are striving to become the go-to publisher for autism-related titles. In addition to Ken Siri and Tony Lyons’s Cutting-Edge Therapies for Autism, The Autism Cookbook, Dr. Wakfield’s Callous Disregard, and Kim Stagliano’s memoir, All I Can Handle: I’m No Mother (November 2010), we’ve got a number of other projects in the pipeline. Two that we are working on for the fall are 1,001 Tips for the Parents of Autistic Boys and 1,001 Tips for the Parents of Autistic Girls, which will be edited and introduced by Ken Siri and Tony Lyons respectively. To that end, we are busily collecting tips, and would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. Attached is a rough topics list and some sample tips. If possible, please take a look at the materials, choose a topic or two, and provide a brief tip or two (or more) by email from your experiences (whether personal or professional) with children with autism. The length of each tip will likely vary —many will be a sentence or two, some will be a full paragraph—but none should exceed 100 words. Gender-neutral tips are great, but if you have any that are specific to boys or girls, then that is even better. If we use any tips you provide in either of the books, you will be credited in the book, if you wish. We cannot offer any monetary compensation but will offer two complimentary copies of the published book to anyone whose tip(s) are chosen for inclusion. Thank you in advance, and if you have any friends, colleagues, or other associates who might have a tip or two, feel free to pass this along. Many thanks, ph Sverchek Skyhorse Publishing _jsverchek@..._ (mailto:jsverchek@...) 212.643.6816 x236
