Guest guest
Looking for a chicken recipe that that tastes like kfc. Could you instruct how you managed these nuggets? Have a son with autism and celiac hooked on kfc strips--the crispy ones. Thanks, D. From: sassifrassilassi2002 <myrubygirl@...> Subject: Re: DAN Pushing the gf/cf diet. Date: Saturday, September 20, 2008, 10:04 PM In all honesty, I would give the diet a try if you're not seeing the gains from enzymes alone. It's overwhelming at first, but it eventually becomes a way of life. If you can, take milk and food containing milk products away first. Find a good milk substitute like almond, rice or potato milk. Try that for a couple of weeks and see how your son reacts. Then slowly starting pulling out the gluten. My daughter was a chicken nugget junkie and it took me a while to find a chicken nugget recipe that she would eat. I finally did, but I had to buy a deep fryer. The nuggets I made her tasted like KFC. I slowly put less and less gfcf badder on them until eventually she was just eating chicken without breading. Then I moved her on to a different diet. I know this is hard! I did it while caring for my newborn as well and I cried quite a bit during those days. But, the diet is life now and I'm used to it. Ruby eats a much bigger variety now and she has benefitted in so many way from the diet. She also takes Trienza with her meals. Some kids do well with just enzymes and no diet, but some don't. You might only have to do the diet for a year and then try just enzymes. Give it a try if you can. It can be done relatively cheaply too. Good luck. We all know where you're coming from. m > > Hello Dana, > > My son is 8 and we have just seen a new DAN Doc. We used to see a > Doctor in Cincinnati. Guest guest
I order the allergy free food package from Angel food ministries that has chicken in it that is very good and reasonably healthy. It tastes better if you deep fry it rather than bake though. I am eating chicken wings from this package for lunch today. You can look up angelfood ministries in your area and give it a try. This diet does work for many and I highly recommend giving it a try. I have learned that enzymes only partially work for me. They work if I stay on the diet and use the enzymes for infractions. If I consistently eat no-mo foods the enzymes no longer work. I took away milk first and discovered that soy doesn't work for us either. We can tolerate soy letichin and soy oil, but no other types of soy. We have been on the diet for over 4 years. -Undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome Stay at home mom to 3, Wife to -6-6-02-Autism Spectrum, the light of my life Katy-11-19-03-undiagnosed genetic syndrome that includes cleft palate-Pierre Robin Sequence, scoliosis, heart defects, short stature, low muscle tone, developmental delay, oral defensiveness, g tube fed part time-working on oral feeding, slightly dysmorphic features, and my joy J.D-no issues except he is totally in love with mommy, cutest baby in the world visit my blog http://busiestmommyinamerica.blogspot.com " If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart!
