Guest guest
, You may want to ask on Trying_Low_Oxalates/ The sandy stool description sounds much like what parents there describe with oxalate. > > I am new to this group. Guest guest
I agree with the previous poster. Black flecks always means an oxalate dump for my son.
Guest guest
I just saw in your other post about your doctor wanting you to give Miralax. Don't do it! That's how my son's gut got extremely damaged. It converts to oxalates in the body if you have any gut damage, which it sounds like you're dealing with. Definitely check on the oxalate forum for lots more info on the black speck problem. Just curious, what do your kids' diets look like? I wonder if they're getting a lot of high oxalate foods. Guest guest
Honestly I held off so long from taking her to the Dr. because I am never happy with the answers I get. However I became scared when all this kept getting worse. I did not want to give her the Miralax because I myself tried it awhile back for constipation / IBS problems that I have long suffered and felt it only made matters worse. After trying numerous diets and fiber supplements, I have been taking magnesium and am having great sucess with it. The constipation any how. So I am giving her Natural Calm Magnesium instead. I have never heard of oxalate. I guess I have some research to do. Right now my daughters diet does not consist of much. She has become very picky. Mac & Cheese. Peanut Butter and Jelly, Toast w/Butter. Hot Dogs. Apples, Carrots, Yogurt, Cereal. Your typical 3 year old stuff. I do however buy Organic Whole Foods. Seems like Dairy bothered her, so after breast feeding I went to soy milk for like a year before I read that soy should never be given to infants and toddlers. So then I switched her to Chocolate Almond Milk. She also drinks alot of Apple juice (diluted w/H2O). I try to limit the processed foods and sweets as much as possible, but I feel she still gets more sugar than I would like. I have to find out what foods are high oxalate foods and she if she eats alot of them. Thank you so much for your responce. You have no idea how confussed I am right now. > > I just saw in your other post about your doctor wanting you to give Miralax. Don't do it! > That's how my son's gut got extremely damaged. Guest guest
don't mean to jump in on your thread, but the chocolate, almonds, peanut butter, and bread are all high in oxylates. My son has high oxylates and there is some supps you can take to help (if that's your child's case). They are Co-Q-10 and L-Carnitine. I understand the kids love the chocolate almond milk....my son just about lost his mind when I took it away. Then, in about 2 weeks he forgot about it. Try the Vanilla hemp milk (lots of EFA's....very good texture and consistancy) Maggie jenniferlcarson <jenniferlcarson@...> wrote: Honestly I held off so long from taking her to the Dr. because I am never happy with the answers I get. Guest guest
Sounds like probably yeast to me. I have read about the " black specks " before. Please look into that symptom. > > I am new to this group. I came across it searching for answers to > problems I have been experiencing with my daughter who just turned > three.
