Eggs - Yolks and Whites [xpost]

Hi all.

Our son is a 4y3m old with mild ASD - primarily late speech.

I am certain this has been asked before, but I simply could not find the

message threads.

So, I will start a new one and am happy if somebody can re-direct me to

one that addressed my question.

We have been going at this Enzyme/Diet thing for just on 6 weeks now.

We are trying to move to Phase 4 of GAPS Intro.

If you are not familiar with GAPS, then it is basically a very

restricted diet:

http://www.gapsdiet.com/

We have only good news so far .. except for eggs .. and we think it is

the whites.

Our diet regimen is:

*Strict Pre-Gaps (lots of broth, kefir, honey added as a reward

sweetener in the kefir)

*Enzymes - 2 caps of Lacto + 2 caps of GlutenEase immediately before

each of 3 meals.

* 1.5 mL of FCLO + 1/2 teaspoon HVBO before each meal

*BioKult probiotic - 2 caps morning and 2 caps night (each time in

water) ; plus 1 cap of the bacterial contents directly into the mouth,

dry, just prior tobed.

Here is what we have observed:

Raw egg yolks tolerated in large quantities with no side effects

whatsoever (although the first day produced a mucky motion, but all good

thereafter).

Boiled full eggs, with runny yolks, produced slightly mushy motions.

Omelettes, using whites produce quite mushy motions.

Omelettes, using only yolks produce less mushy motions, but still not

nicely formed.

In most events, the mucky stuff follows immediatly after the solid

stuff, within the same motion.

Our son had, in the last month or so, gone from mush poop to solid,

regular motions.

Now we seem to be going back wards and his ASD symptoms seem stronger

than before, yet at the same time the positive improvement areas in his

ASD have remained and are still to us quite evident improvements. He

really wants to communicate ... and we know it isn't his ABA .. since it

hasn't started yet :)

He visually stims (loves to flick cutlery in front of his eyes

especially) and he scripts excessively (cartoons primarily).

He is not agressive.

He sleeps well but does grind his teeth.

Anybody seen this kind of reaction before or have an opigion or advice ?

In the last day we have started, for the first time ever, GlutenEase in

between meals.

His poop sample results from Metametrix indicated no yeast problem ...

but I kind of feel that yeast may be involved ... but unsure.

Best Regards

n
