Guest guest
Are you doing any yeast protocol or probiotics? If not, two main components missing. I would say yeast. Also are you doing supplements? Epson salt baths? Tammy Reaction to No-Fenol? Hello Everyone, I wrote earlier about my daughter getting nauseous and vomiting while taking enzymes containing proteases. On the advice of our DAN! doc, I started giving her No-Fenol before each meal. We've never been able to rule out phenol sensitivities cause the area under her eyes is always red/dark, although the severity comes and goes. No other phenol symptoms. We're also on SCD. Her diet is very limited. If I give her any fruit she becomes a fiend and starts to act kinda drunk (slurring speech, short attention span, worsening eye contact, verbally stimmy...tongue thrust worst...lots of tongue/lip stimms, lack of focus, bloated belly, gas). Her diet consists of puréed chicken with cooked carrots, sea salt, water, olive oil, and home made chicken broth; organic grass-fed ground beef, prosciutto, and avocados. I recently added squash (butternut and acorn) because I felt she wasn't getting enough carbs. Blood tests showed low blood sugar and kidney strain, possibly due to all the protein. The squash had resulted in the above symptoms but I thought the No-Fenol would address the yeast as well as the phenols. Well since starting the No-Fenol and the squash the area under her eyes are red *and* dark, like a bruise. She's really out of it. All the symptoms have come back. She's tongue-thrusting, her focus is bad, eye contact bad, she's talking and singing to herself a lot more than usual, her actions are repetitive. However, there's no bloating or gas. Could this be a yeast flare? Die-off? She's also dropping her naps. She almost passes out in the afternoon but I have to keep her awake to put her to bed around 8. If I let her nap she's up till 11. Any thoughts or advice would be great. Many thanks,

The OoO was torture for her and it gave her red checks. Used MCT oil for almost a year and then stopped caused we thought she might be sensitive to it. Also did Sac Bou for quite a while. She takes acidophilus 3 billion CFU once a day. That's it. It's the only strain that is SCD legal. Been doing almost daily Epsom salt baths for last few weeks. Confused on what road to take. Two years into this and I still haven't hit baseline! Considering GAPS, which allows for other strains of probiodicts and pushes fermented foods. It's hard to know how to prioritize foods and supplements. She's been on SCD since October and has been given only a handful of foods. Anyway, she's on the following supplements: Cod Liver Oil Gi ProHealth Vitamin Acidophilus Kirkman Calcium Powder (Hypo allergenic) Carnitly Readisorb Glutathione GPC Glycerophoshocholine COQ10 (Ubiqidine) Methylocobalamin Phosphatidly Serine And recently added No-Fenol. For my son, any carotene foods [orange and green foods, certain red and yellow foods] caused major problems until I corrected his body's ability to convert carotenes. No-Fenol did not help this problem. Dana

My son's symptoms with carotene foods changed if I gave the foods with No-Fenol. Still negative symptoms, just different with and without the No-Fenol. Might have been too much No-Fenol also. > How did you know that your son couldn't convert carotenes? I removed all the carotene foods and he dramatically improved. Guest guest
I would look at Brainchild. Don't remember or have the age of your child, sorry. They have a liquid yeast protocol. All in drop forms and all taste good except for the garlic, at least my guy wouldn't go it. Enzymes, sorry, not sure what is SCD legal. But getting on a enzymes and doing a yeast protocol will hopefully do the trick. It all takes time, money and trials. For a non swallowing capsule child, the Houston chewables did the trick for my guy. Kirkman labs got chewables. If swallowing capsules, awesome! Guest guest
My daughter also had trouble with No-Fenol. She just couldn't tolerate it. I've never been able to figure out why. We stick to the Feingold diet and use magnesium sulfate cream on a regular basis. We also use Zyme Prime and AFP Peptizyde.
Guest guest
> > I also have considered a problem with no-fenol. Recently started son on Trienza and then on no-fenol. Seemed calmer and more present with the enzymes, but has only had one no-fenol and today his mood is different; more sensory; also bm was pale looking and fluffy. Haven't seen this before. Is this a liver issue? At my house, sensory, pale bm, and fluffy bm meant yeast overgrowth. Try increasing the yeast protocol, see if that helps.
