Guest guest
Hi , I know this is not much of an answer, but trust your gut instinct. You can go to the doctor get his/her opinion and maybe a script for antibiotics...it doesn't mean you have to actually use them unless YOU decide it is the best course of action. Despite the fact that I am an anti vax, cloth diapering, totally green, Dr Hater, sometimes antibiotics have their place. I cannot offer any advice about OLE b/c I swear, we are the only people OLE does not work for. However, when my son was four we did try massive doses of it in hopes of getting it to work and although we did not have any good results, we did not have side effects either. Hope this helps! -- angela_lockwood <lockwood1993@...> wrote: I'm very very concerned right now. This is the first time I didn't take one of my children to the doctor when everything in me is screaming to take them. I tried Phytocillin for my 3yo, but I'm not seeing any improvement. I just bought OLE and it says 15-25 drops 3x daily in water. Is that the right dosage for a 40+ lb. 3yo? I know the doctor will give her antibiotics. I've been trying to avoid that but maybe that's what she needs. This is scary for me. She has been sick for 6-7 days now. She ran a high fever for 4 days (maybe 5) and had a rash all over her front and back. The rash and fever are gone, but now there are white bubbles on her tonsils. Her tongue was hurting her last night, but now it's not. Her throat doesn't hurt, but her tummy does. I've been giving her the phytocillin every hour for 24 hours(except during sleep) and now she has diarrhea. I don't know if it's from the sickness or the phytocillin. Her throat doesn't look any better. I'm going to try the OLE. How much and how long should I give it before I go to her pediatrician? Or should I just go now? - --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
Guest guest
I think you should take her to the Dr. it could be strep and if not treated can cause other serious problems. At least find out what it could be and then decide how you want to treat it. How much OLE? Should I get the antibiotics? I'm very very concerned right now. Guest guest
Take your child to the doc and let us know what they say. Maybe someone has dealt with something like this before. You don't have to give antibiotics, but you may want to if this is a serious issue. Please let us know what happened. -- In , " angela_lockwood " <lockwood1993@...> wrote: > > I'm very very concerned right now. Guest guest
I 100% agree that sounds like strep and it MUST be treated or it can cause serious heart problems. Guest guest
Hi This sounds similar to what my daughter went through this time last year. She was 3yrs too and had a body rash and extremely sore thoat with pus and red streaks. Had a very high temp 104c for over a week then mild temp for another week. I took her to doctor to get diagnosed and then threw the antibiotic perscription away. The doc said it was scarlet fever, basically strep throat with rash. Red 'strawberry' tongue was what clinched the diagnoses. It was very stress full time for me as she seemed to be ill for ever. I kept questioning myself but luckily I know a homeopath with a lot of experience to support my no-antibiotic decision. It was a nightmare trying to get her to drink but she did get through it. It probably took a further 2 weeks after the worst 2 weeks to build her back up again but she's never had a throat infection since :-) All I gave her was her usual Solgar multivit and Homeopathic pills Balladonna 200 4x day (for temp) and Lachesis 200 4x day (for throat). If I'd known more I would of tried the OLE and the GSE too as it might of speeded up her recovery. It was the hardest illness to deal with so but far we got there with out antibiotics. I did find it reasuring to go to doc as they were so calm about it and it's always nice to have a diagnoses to stop the mind doing overtime. Hope she improves soon. Warmest Regars Jo How much OLE? Should I get the antibiotics? I'm very very concerned right now. This is the first time I didn't take one of my children to the doctor when everything in me is screaming to take them. Guest guest
I feel your pain and panic. My daughter is/was a strepper. She has been off antibiotics for 2 years without strep. Until 2 weeks ago! I was giving her Threelac that brought out the strep. I tried to attack it with OLE..Boy! Did I bring it out..it was the worst strep she has ever had! I gave her OLE 4x a day for 3 days..nothing. So I did cave and go to the Dr. She was on high doses of antibiotics for 10 days. The way I looked at it was, let me give the antibiotics now, but continue the OLE till God Knows when (lol) so far so good...usually, she would have gotten the strep back by now after stopping the antibiotics. Take her...do the round, but also continue with the OLE. The rash, may have been scarlet fever. Don't want to scare you, but THAT is something that cannot be ignored...sometimes you gotta give the antibiotics...stinks, but as long as you continue with the OLE during and after and lots of probiotics, she should be fine. My daughter as well, didn't complain about her throat..her strep always started in her belly. Hope she is feeling better soon! > > I think you should take her to the Dr. it could be strep and if not treated can cause other serious problems. Guest guest
Sounds like strep (spots on throat) and scarlet fever (rash) - they go together. Antibiotics do have their place but I would just use a strong probiotic in between doses AND after you've finished the meds. Deb > > I'm very very concerned right now.
