Guest guest
The red cheeks and behavior here were helped by the addition of houstons's NO-Fenol. My son is very sensitive to foods with phenols. HTH. Blessings Conrad - In , <gizbaby123@...> wrote: > > > > He will chew obsessively on blankets, his behavior is horrid, his cheeks are red. I'm on my 4th enzyme brand and all of them start out great for the 1st few weeks and then he gets worse. His BM's are formed and the right color but his behavior is HORRIBLE!!!! Is behavior is as if he's back eating the " bad " food. The one we are on right now is Houston enzymes AFP. We've also tried Kirkman's. I've taken care of and ruled out yeast & food intolerance issues. I also start out slow and slowly increase dosing according to food intake. I only know of the two brands, Houston & Kirkman's... .if anyone can tell me another brand they like for their child I would love to try. He will chew obsessively on blankets, his behavior is horrid, his cheeks are red. And this all happens AFTER he has been on the enzymes for at least 2-3 weeks. As I said, I've ruled out yeast, zinc, & food intolerance. My son is considered " NT " . I'm sure I've screwed him up...when I was pregnant not only did take the prescribed pre-natal vitamin but I also took a b6,b12,folic acid vitamin and I'm sure I've overdosed him. I'm desperate in trying to figure out my sons gut issues. If anyone knows of someone that can get me in contact with someone that is very knowledgeable with the bvitamins I'd really appreciate it. Merry Christmas! From a desperate family! " God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change; courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference. Enzymes have been extremely helpful for my son overall, but it wasn't totally easy or without problems during the period of leading up to tolerating them well. Now it is... As I said, I've ruled out yeast, zinc, & food intolerance. The red cheeks is a common sign of phenol issues, which are not technically intolerances but improper conversion. So try adding No-Fenol enzyme, see if that helps http://www.danasview.net/phenol.htm At my house, chewing on things meant intolerance or phenol issues, or yeast overgrowth. For some kids, it means zinc deficiency. Dana
Guest guest
Myself, I sometimes bang my head against the wall, snap at everybody, chew my fingernails, break things, neglect my work, obsessively play solitaire on the computer, avoid social situations, lie in bed all day. This is partly because sometimes the enzymes give me a migraine. Especially if I take a break and then start again. Yes my cheeks are red, I cry sometimes, drive my husband nuts. My poor hound gives me some looks too. I hope your kiddle is not having migraines. Is he vocal, so you can ask him if he hurts? Does he hold his head to one side, rub his eyes, or neck, bang his head, cover one eye? Avoid noise, light, smells? Magnesium helps, epsom salts soaks, potassium, I try everything, but only time makes it better, really. And staying on the enzymes non-stop. Hope this helps the little guy and you too. -- Warmest Regards, Robin Little > > He will chew obsessively on blankets, his behavior is horrid, his cheeks are red.
