Hi Ellen,

Our 10 year old dd used to have major sleep problems along with

behavioral, focus, sensory, and anxiety issues...the docs were

pushing more and more of the meds and just before making a decision

to start the risperdal, DeFelice came to the rescue with her

enzyme suggestion. And, I thank God she did!!!

Because of Dr. Houston's amazing enzymes (along with the Feingold

Diet and fragrance-free environment at home), our little girl was

able to go off all medication within 4 months. She now sleeps pretty

well throughout the night and has much less

sensory/behavioral/focus/anxiety issues, unless we go off the diet a

couple of times in one week or unless she has a fragrance encounter

with someone's perfume/plastic/paint smells or some other chemical

contact (from the air or from someone's pet she pats that has

chemicals on it).

The key is to try to remove as much toxins from his food (such as

artificial colors) and environment (such as fragrances in home

products) as possible. If you'd like some suggestions on how to do

this or where to purchase some of these things, I'd be happy to send

it to you. Please write me back on my personal e-mail at:

k12userfor2@... (the ending is in case it doesn't

show up online).

B vitamins and the 5-htp can be helpful to some kids but can make

other kids (like my daughter) have changes in behavior and sleep.

The Magnesium is good and Epsom Salt baths (or foot soaks) for 20

minutes in the warmest possible water can be VERY helpful, not only

in removing toxins from the body natually, but also in " calming " the

body with the Magnesium that's in it (great to do this just before

bedtime). Use about 2 cups in a bathtub or about 1 cup of Epsom

Salts for foot soaks. Multi-vitamins are not recommended as certain

vit's can make our sensitive kids react negatively. Taking at least

500mg of Vit C several times a day is good too! If your son reacts to

corn (whether in any skin conditions, darkness under eyes, or

hyperactivity), I know of a corn-free Vit C you can purchase (most

Vit C's have corn derivatives).

My husband and I know ALL about sleep deprivation. It's an awful

thing....

To better days,

Gretchen
