Guest guest
I personally suffererd from extreemly bad Excema at the age of thirteen. So bad that 30% of my feet were literally raw flesh. The itching was so bad I could not resist scratching the open sores and worsening the condition. The only thing that would help were products with Coal Tar. I have not seen any of these around lately and was wondering if perhaps Coal Tar was taken off the market for some reason. Tegrin cream was one product. Hope this helps. Re: systemic symptoms , is also going through a case of exzema on her legs and arms right now. It itches her sometimes. I have a prescription cream for it, but it doesnt seem to do much. Its seem every year around this time is when she gets it. I dont think its the cold weather , because it hasnt got to cold here in Florida. This has been going on since she was two years old.(Now 8years old) Her legs get red with little pimple like bumps. And it comes and goes. It is not the jra rash, that looks different. But I think it is related some how to the jra. Also when was little before she could even talk she would wake up crying. When she got a little older she would point to her legs and cry. The doctor would say it was growing pains. I remember when she was 3 I would put her in a hot tub in the middle of the night because her leg cramps were so bad. Now I am wondering if it was the jra all the time. She wasnt diagnosed with systemic jra till she was 5. Guest guest
Amy - very easy to treat. Just put him on a grain free diet. No oranges of course and no other avoids either. If he is willing, he can get rid of it. Simple as that, although I have a feeling that he may resist. Love Excema My O father has been diagnosed with Excema. Has anyone out there sufferered from this, and got good results when following the BTD? Any other thoughts suggestions would be helpful. -Amy O+ sec _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

Guest guest
I think someone on the GAPShelp list recently reported excema showing up in her baby after starting the diet. Also, we are now in stage 2 of the intro, and it is rather underwhelming. I am used to cooking everything from scratch 3 times a day. Now, I'm just keeping a pot of stock going almost all the time and making soups which are really easy and are even better left over. Adding one thing at a time really lets you build up to all the preparation/cooking.MelindaFrom: millersonbroad <rn.miller1@...>Subject: [ ] excema Date: Monday, August 18, 2008, 6:53 AM Hi, has anyoe experienced excema as a de-tox reaction after starting the diet? I put my kids on full GAPS about 3 weeks ago, I did not do the intro diet as I had never heard of it, I was just going by the book. My DD7 now has excema, which could be a reaction to the salicylates on the diet, or just de-tox? Any thoughts? We have a lot of stress going on in the house here at the moment and I just can't get my head around doing the intro diet at the moment. I don't know what to do. Thanks a lot . Yes, eczema can be a die-off symptom since it is caused by toxins coming out through the skin. To minimize such reactions cut back on the amount of antifungals, and slowly increase them (every 5 days or so). Let me know how she does. Guest guest
Thanks Bee, and to , no, she is not on anti-biotics. Why do you ask?? > > > Hi all. Can excema be a die-off thing? Guest guest
Melinda, That was real wise advice. I had heard that from Millie too. At first I was overwhelmed until I started focusing on learning one new thing at a time. I think for me it was the fear of if I could do it and have it turn out ok and if I would have enough time. Once I made up my mind to go forward, God's grace kicked in (!) and it is easier to take on new things now since I can look back and see how it wasn't as hard as I had thought it would be. Hope that makes sense! Also, you ladies here have been a great encouragement. That has been perhaps the greatest help. So many of you being patient with me, allowing me to ask questions twice even and answering them anyway!! I am grateful for you all, Tina > From: millersonbroad <rn.miller1@...> > Subject: [ ] excema > > Date: Monday, August 18, 2008, 6:53 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi, has anyoe experienced excema as a de-tox reaction after starting > > the diet? Is excema a sign of yeast growth or die-off? At my house, it meant food intolerance. Some parents report that it is caused by yeast overgrowth for their children. There are a few other causes, but these are the most common. Dana
Guest guest
Hi Lana, In the book " Everything You Need to Know About Enzymes " on page 149-150 there are 3 different enzyme products recommended. As I list them and their purpose, you can try and determine what you think would be best for you. DigestGold, Lypo Gold, and Virastop. -High Potency Digestive Formula with every meal Purpose: To radically enhance the digestion and assimilation of food while reducing the body's need to produce digestive enzymes. -High Lipase Formula three times daily between meals with essential fats such as flax oil or fish oil Purpose: To improve fat digestion and metabolism, as well as the health of the cardiovascular system. -High Protease Formula three time daily Purpose: To help support immune function and assist in removing viruses, fungal forms, toxins, bacteria, and heavy metals. Interestingly enough, the other members made mention to things such as digestive issues, inflammatory/immune imbalance, and essential fatty acids. All of the above products were made for these three issues. I hope this helps and PLEASE feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns.
