Guest guest
Can anybody help me solve this mystery?!!! For the past 2 weeks my son is increasingly (getting worse every day) urinating. About once every 15 minutes. Sometimes its a weak stream, often clear or greenish in hue.... Also he's wetting his bed at night a few times a week which is unusual for him. He also suddenly started chewing/mouthing stuff like crazy one month ago. I then realized that the new zinc I'd be giving was 1/2 the dosage of the previous one, so I've been supplementing w/ extra zinc since. But the chewing is NOT going away despite one month of extra zinc. I do give L-Carnitine, but maybe he needs more of this too? I'm worried about a possible kidney infection and am taking him to pediatrician soon but in the meantime, any insight from you all would be greatly appreciated (and it will probably save us lots of time spinning wheels with our MDs who may not understand what's truly going on....) I understand there's s link between ZINC DEFICIENCY and FREQUENT URINATION, so that's my first guess. But also I've been giving extra VITAMIN D3 for the past several months and now we are in the sun ALOT, so maybe it's a Vit D issue? Also, been giving UVA URSI over several months on and off (taking breaks, then giving 3 or 4 days in a row, which I guess can cause problems with liver and kidneys??) Does anyone know how long it should take to build the zinc back up in the system and is it wise to give a short term high dose to bring it back up to the needed level? Of course there's always yeast--ALWAYS... Sometimes more, sometimes less, but we are constantly battling it.... But our yeast issues have never presented with the constant need to urinate, just bedtime wetting. THANK YOU VERY MUCH everybody for any shared experiences / insight!!!!!!
