Just a note, my son was severely low in lysine, and it allowed herpes virus to take up residence in his brain. Arginine and lysine are " opposites " , sort of like zinc/copper, where if you supplement one, you will be depleting the other. And also, opposite of lysine eliminating herpes, arginine feeds herpes. So be sure your child does not have resident herpes virus before you start giving arginine. Once the high dose lysine protocol was completed and the herpes virus in my son was gone, I did have to give arginine for about a week or two, to get the ratio back in balance.
