Guest guest
I am new to this group but I have learned tremendously the past few months from you all. This is my first posting. I have 2 issues I need help with. I have a 4 year old on the spectrum with sensory issues and I have learned recently that yeast could be the issue. I also have a 6 year old who has attention problems. He is border line ADHD and my husband and I will not even consider medication. I would rather do it with supplements and all. I have seen such tremendous results with people. I have him currently on vitamin c, cod liver oil and some multivitamins. I was wondering if anybody knows oaf any other lab where I can test my boys. I do not want to just depend on Great plains lab. I live in Ohio. Please help. I need to know that whatever results I get are not doctored or compromised. I am willing to pay for it. I have been saving for a long time for these tests. Thank you. Sorry for the long post.

I want to do these tests at multiple labs in order to come up with concise decisions. Thanks again. henrietta. ________________________________ From: <sandyjramirez@...> Sent: Sun, June 6, 2010 4:18:17 PM Subject: Re: Need help We use Alletess medical Laboratory From: Yarkoni <tanya.yarkoni@...> Subject: Re: Need help Date: Sunday, June 6, 2010, 1:13 PM We use Genova Diagnostics. ________________________________ From: onyeanwuli <onyeanwuli@...> Sent: Sun, June 6, 2010 11:03:08 PM Subject: Need help I am new to this group but I have learned tremendously the past few months from you all. Guest guest
Hi,I agree with Asley ! Have your pediatrician refer you to a neuropsychiatric/psychologist to get a correct diagnoses. Educate yourself with the IDEA and Laws these are the Federal Government guidelines and Laws for Children with Learning Differences/Disabilities. You standyour ground and Fight. We only have one chance in this life to help our child. You are theBest Advocate that your child has! Unfourntally I don't have much advice but fight for him. You fight tooth and nail to get somebody to listen to you. I actually after two years (we moved from CO to GA) finally just took it over my son's pedi's head. I called the office asked to talk to the Dr's nurse (stating that I just had a question), explained to her that although DS's dr is a god sent, he just wasn't really listing to me as a parent whenI was telling him that there is something wrong. Well not wrong per say but just not quite normal. The nurse told me she would put in a referal to a physcologist. And that's when our road to answers started. All I can say is that I am SO THANKFUL that the therpist actually listened to me. We now know that DS is HFA, ADHD and we are finding that he's got some OCD traits and SI disyfunction as well. Like you I knew early there was something. Here we are after 3 1/2 years finally getting validation. So Fight... fight and fight some more. From: C <stick_n_blaze@...> Sent: Sat, December 4, 2010 11:27:09 AMSubject: ( ) Need help My son was diagnosed with ADHD but has shown signs of autisum and/ or aspirers since about 10 months old. We have been seen by 2 specialist and they all want to focus on the ADHD and nothing else, since that was the first diagnoses we got. He has struggled in school since 1st grade and the school doesn't seem to care or be concerned with is inability to work on his own and to have appropriate behavior in a school setting. I have been fighting for answers since my sone was 1 and I seem to be going in circles and getting no answers at all. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts on what I can do I would really appreciate it. Forgot to mention that he was born 2 months premature and did have some speech and developmental delays until we did the appropriate therapy. Guest guest
Thanks so.much for the comments...I have been fighting this battle for almost 9 years and will not give up until I know for sure what my son has and can get the help he needs. I just wish that when I tell the dr what is going on they would take me serious, not think I'm some kind of a nut case mom. I have 2 other children and they seem to be "normal" in all areas of life. When I compare them to my son the dr always tells me that all kids are different and he will catch up sooner or later. Well I know when something is going on and to see the difference between my 5 year old and my 9 year old( who I know has some type of disability) it makes me angry and hurts. I just need to find a good dr that will listen and take me serious, and not go by the "text book" version of a disorder. Just because my son can talk and use his imagination does not mean anything, that is why the term " high functioning" is used. I just want a good dr. I live in VA and the options here are not that great. If any one knows of a good dr please let me know. Thanks again for listening to me vent.
