Guest guest
Hi all. I posted the other day regarding my son on Nystatin. In short - we started 1xday for the first 10 days and then moved to 2xday about 2 weeks ago. Last week we noticed some frustration behaviors (not nearly what they used to be) and then the red skin started. His face is very dry on his cheeks - like red circles on the apples of his cheeks. It seems to have continued under his nose now, although he is VERY mucousy lately but hasn't had any casein. I'm wondering if the mucous has to do with the yeast as well, as I do believe the red cheeks are from the yeast. Tonight the skin between his legs and even the beginning of his trunk seems a little red like its inflamed and he seems very irritated by this. I put eucerin on his face tonight before bed and he cried and cried and told me it hurt. I put powder in the creases of his diaper and desitin on his butt and genitals for fear they'd be bright red in the morning. Is this all yeast coming out? How do I comfort him? I feel terrible. Any and all thoughts and suggestions welcome. Tina in NJ
