I would start the CLO with the equivalent of approx 2500 IU vitamin A per day. Dana
Guest guest
Hi, I always give fish oil following a meal. You may have to observe behavior and test out a few different fish oils (containing different ratios of EPA/DHA) to see which one is the best fit for your child. Warm regards, Anjie > > Hi > My son is three and a half non verbal but babbling alot, he is taking > Trienza and CP1 at bedtime, i would like to start with cod liver oil > and omega 3 & 6 for side glancing and speech, can anyone let me know > if i give cod liver oil and omega 3 & 6 with the enzyme or on a empty > stomach or with food and what dose to give, thanks >
Guest guest
Hi Dana, I was wondering if it takes some getting used to because I started my son on Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod liver oil. I give him 1/2 tsp. a day to start out with but about an hour after he takes it he gets fussy, whiney, easily set off then goes away after awhile. This is the third day he is on it and dont know if I should continue or discontinue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated THANKS! Lydia
Guest guest
Hi Dana Thanks for your advise. What does the vitamin A do?I have ordered some Nordic Arctic Cold Liver Oil:- Each teaspoon provides: DHA: 700 mg Vitamin A: 875-1950 IU EPA: 450 mg Vitamin D: 5-40 IU Other Omega-3: 250 mg Vitamin E: 8 IU Total Omega 3: 1400mg per dose Should i still add in a separate vitamin A? > > My son is three and a half non verbal but babbling alot, he is taking > > Trienza and CP1 at bedtime, i would like to start with cod liver oil > > and omega 3 & 6 for side glancing and speech, can anyone let me know > > if i give cod liver oil and omega 3 & 6 with the enzyme or on a empty > > stomach or with food and what dose to give, thanks > > > It does not matter whether or not you give it with food. My son required mito cocktail and preloading before he tolerated EFAs http://www.danasview.net/mar05.htm Another thing to consider, is that if it contains tocopherol, then it probably contains soy, and can cause problems for kids who don't tolerate soy. Helps with language, visual stims, and certain viruses. > Vitamin A: 875-1950 IU > Should i still add in a separate vitamin A? Depends on how much A you want to give.
