Vitamins cause hyperness then meltdown?

Lurker here.

DS 11 has always taken various vitamins/minerals. I've been into

alternative health for many years, had my own holistic business, and

have cabinets full of supplements.

He has always had issues with major nuclear meltdowns and episodes of

hyperness. I've tried everything I know. He's much better since

eliminating artificial colors/flavors, and giving enzymes with each

meal. But still had the behavior issues.

I've been careful to only give him supplements with no additives, but

I began to wonder if vitamins were causing problems. I've used

various brands over the years and was religious about giving him

supplements every day.

But I've eliminated all vitamins and only give him enzymes and cal/mag

and fish oil for a couple of months and he has been like a new kid.

Calmer, doesn't wig out.

Well yesterday I thought I really should give him a multi, so I

did--no colors or additives. About an hour later he was wild, hyper,

loud, then it peaked and he got frustrated with something he was doing

and he had a total emotional nuclear meltdown.

Now I know for sure it is the vitamins and I am suspecting it's the

b-complex.

Why would this happen? I've read some things about over- and

under-methylators and depending on which one you are, certain B

vitamins will make you worse. Not sure if that's the problem or if

it's something different.

I'm really concerned as I feel everyone should take supplements at

least a few times/week to compensate for the devitalized food we all

must eat to one extent or another.

Anyone else had this problem?
