Guest guest
This is now day 4 on 150mg of Enhansa, and this morning my little guy threw up several times. He won't eat or drink anything, and asked to go back to bed at 10am, which is unheard of. He's obviously not feeling well, and he hasn't slept well at night all week. I do suspect a yeast flare up and tried to start GSE today (but that all came back up). My DH and I are wondering if the Enhansa is making him sick, or if it's a positive effect of the Enhansa, or just a regular old stomach bug. (or too much GSE). any thoughts? He won't be getting any supplements today...I'll be lucky to get some water or fruit in him today. It's funny how pleasant and cooperative my son is when he doesn't feel well. No stimming, no tantrums, he just goes along with me and watches movies quietly. Sigh. Can't win. Thanks. > > > > > > I just started my son on 75mg of Enhansa, about every other day just because I haven't figured out the best way to sneak it into him. His poop turned yellow (again), and his first bath after starting this was torture. I had epsom salt in the water and it was quite warm, but usually he loves this. His skin turned blotchy red and he had the biggest meltdown I've ever seen. I had to take him out before he hurt himself or drowned. Then he asked me to sing to him and he calmed down and his skin went back to normal. Anyone had similar experiences? Could this be Enhansa or something else? That is a big sign of a viral kid, if they are noticeably improved when they have a fever. Dana
Guest guest
Yes Dana! Since the beginning, he was ALWAYS remarkably calm, verbal, and well behaved when he had a fever. I've asked a zillion people about that, and the best answer I found was " yes, kids with ASD are much better with a fever but we don't know why. " Today he has a low fever...about 100.2. He hasn't vomited since noon (6 hours) and had diahrrea only once. Even his motor skills are better today, and he is so happy and well behaved. So...this could be a viral thing from Enhansa? (that's the answer I want to hear...lol) Thanks! > > It's funny how pleasant and cooperative my son is when he doesn't feel well. Guest guest
What about if your kid never has a fever? Does that mean he is never sick or his immune system is so bad it just doesn't fight back? Try increasing the yeast protocol. Dana
Guest guest
> What about if your kid never has a fever? Does that mean he is never sick or his immune system is so bad it just doesn't fight back? In the beginning of my son's life, he would improve when he had a fever. His body was still trying to fight off viruses. After his immune system was destroyed, he was never sick, because his body had stopped fighting off viruses and they just went directly into his brain. So therefore, if your child is 1) always sick, 2) improves with fever, or is 3) never sick, those are all signs of a weak or destroyed immune system.
