Be sure to watch the new show Parenthood -- premiering March 2 at 10PM

eastern...

Character bio :

Max is Adam and a's eight-year-old son. He is sweet but quirky and

recently his parents find out it's going to be much more difficult raising him

than they had anticipated. Dealing with Max means relying on the love and

support of each and every member of the Braverman family. They say it takes a

village to raise a child. This has never been more true than in the case of Max.

Quirky and sweet, but also emotionally isolated, Max Braverman was recently

diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome.

I'm very interested to see how this plays out ... There are several characters

on t.v. -- who seem to have aspergers but it's never actually said out loud....

Not to mention -- my own Max was just diagnosed at age 8.

Hopefully they go more with the sweet and not to much with the quirky... I could see him being the butt of too many jokes if they do it wrong. Of course its NBC so the show will only be on for a month :-p.

I love, love, love Parenthood, the movie, so I have high hopes for the TV show. I didn't know that about the character of Max. All the more reasons to tune in =)

There was a lawyer on Boston Legal who assaulted someone, not sure who, and was found to have AS. He refused to use that as a defense, and if I remember, he was glad to finally understand why he was the way he was. It was a pretty simple part of the story, but there's only so much you can do in a hour long show.

I really liked that movie too! I hope the show is as good as the movie.
