The Center for Adult and Continuing Education at Misericordia University in

Dallas, PA, and The NeuroSensory Center of Eastern Pennsylvania are offering

an evening seminar with two guest speakers, pediatrician Hicks, M.D.

and Betsy Hicks, author of “Picky Eating Solutions.’’ The two-hour lecture

on Monday, Oct. 25 from 7-9 p.m. in Huntzinger and Alden Trust Rooms 218-219

in Sandy and Insalaco Hall will cover how picky eating begins for

children and adults, and exposes addictive foods and the limitations they

create.

The seminar will also address understanding texture, how to help with

desensitization, techniques that increase cooperation, and setting up a

kitchen for success.

The seminar is designed for families whose mealtime has turned into a

battle, and for parents who are worried that their child is not getting the

proper nutrients they need. The presentation also will help to bring the joy

of real food back to the table as the presenters offer step-by-step methods

for introducing a nutritional variety into a picky eater’s diet.

The program is open free to the public and is co-sponsored by NeuroSensory

Center of Eastern Pennsylvania, located in Kingston, Pa. For additional

information, or to register, contact Thea Kahn in the Center for Adult and

Continuing Education, (570) 674-6155 or go to

www.misericordia.edu/conferences.
