Guest guest
Dana, You are really a hero. I admire all that you have achieved. I read your website and your posts for information and inspiration. Thanks for not only working on the health of your children, but sharing your experience with the rest of us. Guest guest
Dana, Thanks so much for sharing this info and pictures. This is so encouraging!! You must be so proud of them all. I think you and your kids should be on a talk show and share your story to show how autism can be reversed in many cases. I'd also be tempted to take your #2 son back to that doctor that told you to institutionalize him and let him see that his prediction was totally wrong. You should be proud of your determination and persistence to research and do what was necessary to recover your kids. It has definitely had wonderful results! Guest guest
Hey Dana Thanks for the pictures on your website. I was wondering, how long has your #2 been functioning at this level- 1-2 grade? Is this a steady improvement? A plateau? Thanks so much and good job! It IS really exciting to see your kids achieve milestones that were originally unexpected . . .and I know it is inspirational as well. Congratulations to Dana on her kids achievements, and here's my son in the the final of the school talent competition a month or so ago in the " instrumental " section. He didn't win, but the fact he was in it at all was fabulous for me. We were very proud parents!! Guest guest
> Hey Dana > Thanks for the pictures on your website. I was wondering, how long has your #2 been functioning at this level- 1-2 grade? Is this a steady improvement? A plateau? I am not really sure. I just had that assessment done in late September. It is higher than his previous assessment where he assessed as Kindergarten. As a general rule, my son will steadily improve but occasionally reaches a plateau where he stays for as long as 3-4 months. Then he starts improving again. I do have him in private speech therapy 1x per week, and his therapist does say that he is mastering the concepts rapidly and she is impressed with him. Guest guest
Even if he reaches a plateau, he is off the charts in cuteness!! When you started treating your children did you have a medical back ground? Or was this all done by mommy determination? Kathy I called a few DAN doctors when my son was about 4. None of them would accept my son as a patient, because " since he is a Kanner child [did not regress], there is nothing that can be done for him " . So I decided that if I wanted him recovered, I would have to do it myself. Looking back, I am glad I did not have a doctor. I don't think he would be this far along if I had used a doctor. Guest guest
Dana, If I had it to do all over again, I wish we had not had a doctor per se after seeing Dr. Amy Holmes. She put us on the right track. Then she retired and we went looking for doctors, but the truth is, all we've done is what Dr. Holmes told us to do. I started losing faith in our DAN a year ago when he suggested putting my son on psychotropics for his " stimming. " Then even after my son had a reaction after IV EDTA (He had previously had reaction after IV DMPS) This doctor still wanted to continue to IV chelate but give oral steroids before the treatment. We said " Hell no " as oral steroids int he past had caused a psychotic episode in our son. So then since we declined this, he said do nothing and leave the metals in!!! I had mentioned the AC Protocol to him and he wouldn't discuss it. Then what I found out was that even though our insurance covered chelation, he was not filing it but charging us out of pocket. This would have been okay if he had been honest about it up front, but I found it very dishonest that his receptionist told me our insurance didn't cover it, so the truth is they even wanted to prevent parents from filing on their own, so when I figure this out, the doc calls me back in a room and then says he will let me file on my own but doesn't wan the other parents to know. How freaking dishonest is this? We parents are already so strapped for cash and now docs won't let us file for things that are supposed to be covered? Now I just want to heal my child. I don't have a lot of faith in doctors anymore. But I do need to find one to run the tests I fell need to be run at times. I want to keep an eye on his neutrophil count and his copper/zinc ratio. Thanks for all you do to help us here, Dana.
Guest guest
Dana, I want to thank-you for all you share! You have impacted my life so much. I've read, re-read studied you posts, applied them, sought guidance and seen your solution work for my children. We have a long, long way to go and I may not get where you are but a big part of the gains we've made can be attributed to your posts. I can not thank-you enough. Casandra From: danasview@...
