I would start lower, like 1mg or even 4000mcg [1mg equals 1000mcg] and work up from there. My kids needed much more than these doses, but 5-10mg seems about average. I have Thorne Biotin-8 8000mcg capsules, but have > not used them yet. I started my kids with 400mcg per day, and worked up from there. Most kids tend to need 5-10mg [your biotin 8 is 8mg, but I would not start that high]. My son needed 20mg 3x per day for a while. You might start by giving a small sprinkle of the biotin 8. Biotin does require magnesium for proper absorption. Dana
Guest guest
How much Biotin would you recommend for a 40# child. He cannot swallow pills so I would have to find a liquid form. Any recommendations? I would like to try to see if this will help some of his stemming. Thanks

It comes as tiny capsules, so it would work well to teach him to swallow them. Or you can open the capsules and mix with something. > would like to try to see if this will help some of his stemming. What are the stims? Dana
