I like Logodent toothpaste (flouride free) for the kids and Tom's of Maine for myself (the flouride and SLS free kind). I usually use Seventh Generation Cleaning products (dishwasher detergent, spray cleaner) although I also use a lot of vinegar and water. I like California Baby bath soap for the kids; I use a shea butter soap from Whole Foods for myself. For lotion, I use raw, organic coconut oil (find it in the baking section at Whole Foods). For sunscreen, I like Lavera SPF 30.The cosmeticdatabase.com is a searchable site where you can input the products you're using now to see if they are toxic or not.On May 23, 2010, at 8:09 PM, valoriclemens wrote:

Hi everyone!

I realized the title of my last message may have sounded like I was trying to sell something. :) Could any of you (ladies especially) give me some recommendations for personal care and cleaning products? Burt's Bees Wax? Kiss My Face? Seventh Generation? What about toothpaste? I went to the health food store and looked at the ingredients of some of these products and they still had a lot of things I didn't recognize in the ingredients. A few suggestions would be great! (Hopefully products that are not too pricey).

Thanks so much!

Something y'all may be interested in:  The Environmental Working Group recently analysed sunscreens and cosmetics for harmful ingredients; I think they may have done the same for the chemicals/pesticides in our food.  You can find the results on their Website:  http://www.ewg.org/

For a direct link to the sunscreens:  http://www.ewg.org/2010sunscreen/And here's a direct link to the cosmetics: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/
