Guest guest
I saw the actual show! amaaaazing voice. I hope he goes far. My question though is he showed a lot of emotion with the crying and all. My 18 yo ds who has HFA is so non emotional and so opposite of this guy. My son has a very somber and stoic facial demeanor and totally no emotions and no empathy towards anyone. I am just curious of anyones thoughts on this. This was so very emotional. It was wonderful to see. From: Cassie Murray <ringmurray@...> Sent: Thu, February 10, 2011 2:46:13 PMSubject: Re: ( ) Check out YouTube - Durbin - American Idol Audition in San Fransisco, C Oh wow! Guest guest
I haven't watched AI this season but maybe I'll have to check it out because of this kid! My son can have a range of emotions, but he can't necessarily articulate what he's feeling or even the type of feeling. So pretty much every negative emotion is "I'm nervous" (not worried, irritated, angry, just nervous.) When Dylan stops and thinks about it (sometimes on his own, sometimes with encouragement) he can certainly have empathy, but sometimes you have to coach him to stop and think. Guest guest
My son is usually very stoic too. Doesn't smile much or show much facial expression. But when he does show emotions it usually comes out like a titlewave. He rarely cries, but when he does it's like someone died. He sobs uncontrolably and doesn't stop until he has completely worn himself out. ne From: boogermeanie@... <boogermeanie@...>Subject: ( ) Check out YouTube - Durbin - American Idol Audition in San Fransisco, CAspergers Treatment Date: Thursday, February 10, 2011, 12:22 PM Click here: YouTube - Durbin - American Idol Audition in San Fransisco, California also this one
Guest guest
Maddie is the same way.. her tone is very flat, but when she gets upset about something she can pull the drama out of nowhere and collect that oscar! I have ALWAYS told her doc...it's either a 1 or a 10..there is NO inbetween. Guest guest
My son is over emotional in some ways but in others again like your son has to be coached about the way people feel or why it's wrong to say some of the things he says, he just does not seem to get it From: boogermeanie@... <boogermeanie@...>Subject: ( ) Check out YouTube - Durbin - American Idol Audition in San Fransisco, CAspergers Treatment Date: Thursday, February 10, 2011, 12:22 PM Click here: YouTube - Durbin - American Idol Audition in San Fransisco, California also this one
