Guest guest
KJ: Primal Defense Update/sinus nighmare! Put 'almond milk' into a search engine and read how easy it is to make your own. Dairy is so bad. Commercial cow's milk, cheese, etc. is very mucous producing and very likely offends practically every organ in the human system, colon included. Your sinuses will love you and so will your colon for eliminating all dairy products. Best wishes all......Betsy > KJ, have you ever tried Rice Milk? Or Almond Milk. Rice Milk is easier to find, but I adore Almond Milk. They taste great! of DH > >

Guest guest
, >>Do you dehydrate your almond pulp, or use as is? I use it as is. I haven't had a problem with too much moisture. Thanks for you tip. Therese
Guest guest
Sam, This sounds like a phenolic reaction that kids who are intolerant of phenols from foods get. You might try the Feingold diet which is supposed to control phenols. Kids who are reactive to phenols also get red ears and red cheeks. You might try googling high phenol foods and see if almonds are included on the list, if so, that is probably your answer. [ ] almond milk i made homemade almond milk today for my son and he had a reaction-red patches on his checks, couldn't sleep and has been very emotional/upset all day. he does fine with nut butters and nut flours why would the milk effect him? thankssam
Guest guest
There is no lactose (milk) in Almond milk, I'm pretty sure it says so right on the box. Almond and Rice milk are super substitutes for daily milk. I drink them all the time. Almond milk has lots more sugar than rice milk and less calories. Hope that helps, Patty
Guest guest
> > Hello Bee > > I just started drinking the almond milk I found on your recipes site. I was wondering if I should keep taking calcium as a supplement, or the almond milk has enough calcium. I was taking only half the dose you recommend, since if I would take the recommended dose I would get cramps. +++Hi Marisa. 15 almonds provide about 40-50 mg of calcium, and your body will only absorb about 40% of that calcium. There may be other reasons you are getting leg cramps. Are you drinking tea which is diuretic and makes the body lose water along with minerals? Are you taking high doses of baking soda, which does the same? Are you drinking coffee or having caffeine in foods like chocolate? Are you taking the correct amounts of vitamin D, vitamin A and omega 3 which helps your body utilize calcium? Do you have thyroid problems which interfere with utilizing and regulating calcium? Are you taking the correct amount of magnesium, and first tried increasing it instead of lowering your calcium, and so on. Bee

I think I am doing everything right. So I will try to increase my magnesium. It is not exactly cramps that I am having. It is a deep pain in my legs, like very very very extremely tired and can't actually move. And it always and only happens when I take the normal dose of calcium. Thank you Bee.
