Grade 4 autism awareness presentation

My daughter's teacher emailed me yesterday asking if I would like to do an

autism class with him so that my daughter's class can undersdtand why she is

'wierd' and different from them. I thought this was a great idea since it was

suggested in a post in this group, which I read right before his email.

I am trying to figure out what should be told to them and how much they will

understand. My gauge of what a 10 year old understands is only based on what my

AS daughter understands and these kids are more advanced than she is. I want

them to ask questions because they most likely have specific things they want to

know about. The teacher give me multiple options or to come up with my own.

Should my daughter be there in the class for the presentation?

Should she be there as a student and not as a participant in the presentation?

Should she be part of the presentation?

Should she try to answer questions or should I?

Or some other sort of variation?

Should the parents be contacted? Should they be invited? Should they be

allowed to know the info beforehand? Should they be allowed to have their child

not there for the presentation?

What should the presentation content be? Should it be autism and As in general

and then specifics for my dd?

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
