My hfa is great with babies and her patience increases with babies

even until they are around 1.5-2 yrs old.

Hi,

My DS (16) also has had a special relationship with babies, especially his

sister and cousins when they were babies and toddlers. He has obviously been

able to understand them very well. It was great to see how he interacted with

them, and could make them do things the parents weren't able to at all :-)

Take care,

Rannveig/.

My 7 year old does. I run an in-home daycare and he will actually fake an illness at school just to come home and play with the babies. So now he doesn't get to come home unless he actually has a fever. Not only that, but, he will beg to feed them and wants to help change them. Of course I can't let him do that. I think it is good for him though. He will sit and read to them. Its cute! TeamJakobSupport children with Aspergers,With your support their is no limit to Jakob's success!!

Yeah, that's funny you should say that.  My 5-year old is fascinated with them.  We were at the zoo a couple of weeks ago and he literally stopped in his tracks to look at a baby in a stroller.  He LOVES babies.  Wonder what it is?

My , age 13, was afraid of babies until he was in about 3rd grade and his

teacher had a baby. She brought the baby to school a few times and was so

fond of him. still asks about this baby even though we haven't seen him

for at least 3 years so not a baby any more. We moved from TX to NH. We might

get to see him this summer. Anyway, after became acquainted with his

teacher's baby he started going up to people and asking about their babies.

" Oooh look at the baby! He's cute. " He asks the name and then can't understand

what the parents are saying unless it's a familiar name he's heard a lot of

times. He wants to know the age and the gender which he can rarely tell without

help no matter how they're dressed. People are always surprised that a big kid

like loves babies so much. He's even warmed up to toddlers now. He used

to be REALLY terrified of toddlers because he never knew what they'd do. He was

afraid they'd touch him. He'd hit them if they got too close. Now he watches

them run all around with some amusement.

My son likes babies too, I thought it was just him, didn't know it was common. But anytime a friend or family member has a baby nearby, he will ask to hold him/her. He will very patiently sit with the baby and coo and talk to him. It's really sweet. My other son who is 7 and non-AS could care less about babies, lol.
