Guest guest
Maddie is on concerta and fluoxetine (prozac) and she does beautifully on them. When we first got here her doc wanted to take her off, because she is sort of anti-meds. Long story, short...she was taken from 20 to 10 and I got calls from the teachers saying put her back on. lol. She's back on the regular dose and doing great. It helps with her fidgeting and obsessing. Mom to my 4 girls Madeline, Cayla, Arabella, & Vincenza "You are the TRIP I did not take You are the PEARLS I cannot buy You are the blue Italian LAKE YOU are my piece of foreign SKY" ---Anne ---- ( ) Another question for you ladies My daughter went to the med's doctor today for her monthly, she noticed that she was showing a lot more signs of anxiety and suggested prozac. She currently is on concerta 54mg and she is doing really well with that but she does have social problems, meltdowns, obsessiveness and fidgeting. My question is if any one has any real idea if the two work together at all with this or how much did they give? Sorry I am still trying to figure this meds stuff out and find my dd the right doses that will make things better for her. I did ask you all about the melatonin and we decided to forgo it for now but if she needs it later on will try it. Any help would be great and thank you all in advance as you all are so great here and so glad I found this group. My days have been getting better and nights are still a work in progress. I just am hoping to make things better before the summer time comes as last summer was very stressful here. Guest guest
Well i probably cant offer any great advice because my kids are 4 , 2 and 1 and not on any medications! But i just wanted you to know i read your post and i feel for you and your daughter , my niece has a lot of problems with anxiety , she hates being alone in a room in her house , she has to be by someone at all times , and she will have very bad panic attacks! My sister hasnt put her on any medication yet , and she doesnt talk about it too much , so i dont want to ask her a million questions like im trying to be nosy , but i am very concerned for my niece! Its gotta be very hard to watch her have bad anxiety, it was frustrating for me because i would see my family members getting irritated with my niece because they thought she was just being a baby or tryingto get attention , they just couldnt understand that she generally does feel panic and is genuinely scared! Its a lot better now , my family finally gets what she is going through , but anyway i justwanted to tell you that i feel for you , and i will support you in any way i can!! Thats what we are all here for right? :)Meaghan :)From: Sharon <simplycraftymom@...> Sent: Mon, January 24, 2011 9:33:37 PMSubject: ( ) Another question for you ladies My daughter went to the med's doctor today for her monthly, she noticed that she was showing a lot more signs of anxiety and suggested prozac. Guest guest
, Thanks will be bringing it up to the doctor the next time and see if she still agrees and put her on it and see if it gives any sort of help to her. I just feel bad that she has to be getting some much medication and she hates to take them but knows it is to help her. Meaghan, It is very hard to watch and deal with especially since I am the lunch person for her school now and see her all day and she will not really sit with anyone at lunch and the girls are rather mean. Its very hard to watch at times. I am dealing with it tho and am pretty much having my own anxiety issues to deal with so we have it in common and I think that makes it easier for me to understand her better. I have family just like yours that think its just her being spoiled and wanting more attention and think it has to do with sibling rivalry. Its very hard to stand around those that do not understand that there is a problem.
