Guest guest
In Colorado, I know there is child find which is funded through the public school system, Child Find might use family income as a qualifier, I am not sure, but your friend could call the school district in which she lives and ask for that phone number. If this does not work, then I would say her next move is to contact Children's Hospital in Aurora, she will have to go through the psychology and psychiatry department which includes behavior and development. It took us about 6 months to get seen, but the Dr.'s there where a big help. I hope I was able to help some. Good Luck, Dawn
Guest guest
I don't know what an " RSA " is. And it is different with regards to ABA. Many (if not most) places won't provide it. Our MR/DD supposedly went to an ABA " model " type program at their school but I am not sure it would be that individualized. Plus, they would not pay for it to be done in your home, privately. So again, you'd be on your own with that. Another poster suggested you have her look in to her local school system for an evaluation. Child find is a federal program and all states use it. They should provide an evaluation and then services if she qualifies. It might be worth her while to transition her to a special needs program if she needs special services. The private program would not have to provide any of that. Â Roxanna " The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. " E. Burke ( ) Colorado anyone? My friend's 3 year old daughter is in a private daycare center and badly needs ABA. In NY, many SEIT's are trained in ABA so we get a double value and doesn't cost the parents. Â What is the equivalent in Colorado? She was told by the Board that she can't get speech because her dd is not in Public school. I told h er to ask for an RSA... Am I wrong to assume that it's the same in all the states?
