Guest guest
I just read this article on people.com about him. Sounds promising! I like his attitude about it. http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/09/23/the-amazing-race-introduces-contestant-with\ -aspergers/
Guest guest
....it's great to see a man living with Aspergers who seemingly has a good life and a great friend. If anyone else is watching, let me know what you think! > I liked the episode last week! The two friends seem more relaxed and good-humored than any of the other contestants. I hope that tonight's episode goes well for them again --- I'm cheering them on!
Guest guest
I don't want to downplay the feel good sports stories where a team " allows " a student on the spectrum to enter a game minutes before the end when getting a point doesn't make a difference in the game. I think it's important for other students and even coaches to look outside of themselves to support and include teammates of all abilities. But sometimes I think to myself, that student probably could be playing all games with the proper support in the beginning. What I enjoy on Amazing Race is that Zev is an equal competitor with everyone else and he is ready for the challenge. That's a positive role model for teens with Asperger's and I enjoy watching the show with my son. --Dawn > > I think I posted about this before, but the Amazing Race on CBS has a team composed of best friends, one with Asperger's. I LOVE watching the two of them interact on the show. So far it hasn't been portrayed as much as a " disability " but really more of a " condition, " which I like. I think they placed 2nd in one of the last races...woo-hoo! I'm going to be so disappointed if they don't win, but until then, it's great to see a man living with Aspergers who seemingly has a good life and a great friend. Guest guest
Watched the Amazing Race for the first time last night w/ my ds and we did not know w/c contestant had the AS. So I made a game w/ my ds and had him figure out w/c one he thinks. During last nights episode nobody mentioned about the AS contestant and my son did guess Zev. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of air time spent on and Zev unlike the other contestants. So we didn't really get a good glimpse of the interaction between the 2 friends, nevertheless, my son guessed Zev. When asked how he reached that conclusion, my son just said that he did not have a lot of expression. Hopefully, they can go far in this game.
