Guest guest
I love the show. I think it does the best job of showing the parents' reaction to everything. I can see a little of my son in the Max character, but the strength of the show is the family interactions, in my opinion. I LOVE the single mom!!!! It's a show about a large family, not a show about Asperger's. You can't only have one aspect, because there's so much other stuff going on -- the challenges of the grandparents, being a single Mom, possible infidelity, parenting a son you never knew you had, teen angst, etc. It's all interesting and very diverse, AS is just a part of the show I think they've done a good job in showing how AS impacts the family, not just on treating Max. Guest guest
This is a show that is trying to touch all audiences that can relate to Parenting. If they saw him all the time they shut down single parenting, divorcees, etc etc-- Sent from my Palm PreOn Apr 14, 2010 19:22, <kiwizmommy@...> wrote: whats the deal w that parenthood show? they never show that max kid for more than a couple min. i hope they show an accurate description of aspies so everyone could understand alittle about what we go through on a day 2 day basis!! tell me what u guys think of this show. Guest guest
I love the show too and when it first started I wanted to see Max all the time -- but now - I'm actually glad that he is in it just enough - with enough of the quirks of the condition to really be noticeable by those of us in the know. My brothers & sisters & mom have a weekly conference all and the show comes up in every discussion with regard to the Max character and whether I think it's accurate. mom to my own 8 yr old aspie named Max > > whats the deal w that parenthood show? they never show that max kid for more than a couple min. i hope they show an accurate description of aspies so everyone could understand alittle about what we go through on a day 2 day basis!! tell me what u guys think of this show. >
Guest guest
I find myself wanting to see more of them as a family and the things that you mentioned..... and then I remind myself that this is a show about adults and thier different fams and their interactions. Not on a fam that has a kid with AS. (I hear you, though.) Ahhhhh, Laughter................ Guest guest
I am sure that is because it is an ensemble show about all of the parents and kids, not a show about a kid with aspergers. They are showing how the parents are coping too. I could so relate to Adam at the end of the last episode! Guest guest
I finally caught up on all my episodes and i agree. I'm just happy AS is finally getting some air time. I see my daughter in Max A LOT honestly I think they are twins... LOL The whole lizard or gecko thing I can't remember what he had is my daughter to a T only with Snakes and snails.
