Thank you Roxanna- I concur wholeheartedly - so much depends on where you are and who the staff are at the table. I know I have really worked hard and still have not accomplished as much I would have liked for my son, but I did the best I could with teh resources I had available to me and I really sink close to 30 hours a week into my son's education weekly on top of a full time job and being a single mom to three kids, and having therapy near daily or activities.

There are programs out there to work on comprehension. For example, http://www.scilearn.com/

I would expect them to do some serious remediation at this late date. Perhaps you can get something for over the summer as well. If he is really behind, you can forgo graduation and he can stay in school for another year or two to receive services.

May those who love us, love us

And those who don't love us,

May God turn their hearts

And if he can't turn their hearts,

May he turn their ankles

So we will know them by their limping!

My son was always diagnosed with a disability in written expression. He was just tested again this year and it was discovered that he also had a disability in reading comprehension. He is a Senior and we have his IEP meeting next week.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we should have in the IEP for reading comprehension at this late date?

Thank you,

Krista
