Guest guest
Ok...this might sound odd, but I remember reading somewhere AS kids often had large circumference. My son has always had a large head...off the charts as a baby. Wondering if this is true for others? We went to the batting cages with my BF and his son. My son wanted to hit (which surprised me), but not one helmet fit his head. In fact, I have bought him adult hats since he was probably 2! Whenever they do something with hts, they never fit him. They just did silly pics for his Upward team and he was the only one who couldn't get a hat on his head. I never realize how big it is until times like this. I wonder if I am just use to it and wonder if it is that obvious to strangers.
Guest guest
Up until about two years ago my ds had a larger than usual head. Since we are on the subject of size...... this may sound weird but anybody else's aspie son have issues with underdeveloped sexual organs? > > Ok...this might sound odd, but I remember reading somewhere AS kids often had large circumference. Guest guest
YES, i have thought the same thing! my ds is 12.5 and in puberty beginnings but it is still really small, has been his whole life and he is even uncircumcised so it should look longer anyway. Guest guest
Yes, I read about this in a Tony Attwood book. I got my son's growth chart from his pediatrician and it confirmed the rapid head growth in infancy described in the book - from the 25th% at birth to the 90th% by 9 months! It is less obvious now at age 3, but when my son was smaller, he used to outgrow shirts in the head opening before the rest of the shirt was too small! Guest guest
My 14 yo son's the opposite - his head is smaller than that of his younger brothers (7 & 9). The paediatrician and the neuropsychologist that saw him noticed that his head circumference stopped growing at some point. They didn't know what to make of it - they said that most likely he will pick up at some point. Guest guest
This doesn't fit for our son. His head is actually a little smaller than average and has been since birth with consistent steady growth. Our younger son who appears in all ways so far to be NT has a larger head. P. Guest guest
My son has also been wearing adult hats since age 2. Not sure of the percentile, but it must be high. -- C. > > > > Ok...this might sound odd, but I remember reading somewhere AS kids often had large circumference. Guest guest
I don't know if it is obvious to strangers, but both my dad and my son had big heads as young children. My poor Adam was so top heavy it was typical for him to get bruises from falling over because he just couldn't catch himself before he hit his head. His body has caught up some, but he still has difficulity with sports and stuff.FawnFrom: cmt263 <gina9431@...> Sent: Tue, February 15, 2011 8:34:09 AMSubject: ( ) Big Head Ok...this might sound odd, but I remember reading somewhere AS kids often had large circumference. Guest guest
My son also has a big head. As for the sexual organs, one of his testicles never descended and had to be removed. I never thought that had anything to do with AS, though. > > > > Ok...this might sound odd, but I remember reading somewhere AS kids often had large circumference. Guest guest
Is it that their heads are larger in circumference? I read something on this many years ago and I thought that it was about having rapid head circumference growth - i.e. suddenly increasing in size, not necessarily having large heads.
