Guest guest
Hi, I am dealing with pretty severe candida at the moment and have a question for those of you taking Bio-kult--do you know how many strands of bacteria are in each capsule? I couldn't find the info on the website. My ND put me on Biogenesis Ultra Flora Plus capsules, which are a 50/50 combo of lacto and bifidus bacterias, 15 billion strands per cap. I admit that I'm not taking nearly enough of them, but gosh, they're expensive if I do! But not as expensive as Bio-kult, so I'm trying to determine what I can feasibly take on a large scale for a period of time.... Some background to my health issues: Birth control pills for 5 years. Chemotherapy protocol for 12 weeks, taking daily horse-size antibiotic pills (this might have been for 5 months? not sure) plus Prednisone. (Also took Milk of Magnesia daily for fear of constipation, which was so bad in the beginning--ugh...) Radiation treatment to my upper body, causing hypothyroid issues now (I take Levoxyl and Cytomel--couldn't tolerate Armour thyroid). Hmm, anything else? Had a baby three and a half years ago and since then have felt very depleted. I didn't eat enough during the pregnancy--only gained 23 lbs.--but had a healthy baby, and a clean, perfect delivery without drugs--yeah! (I've had enough of those...) Heavy metals in my system, possibly from leaking amalgam (now removed) and chemo drugs. Bipolar symptoms have steadily gotten worse... So anyway, here I am, with a " leaky gut " I assume and chronic fatigue (I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by an acupunturist when I was 18 and always tired and near anemic), and this Candida that's really kicking my butt right now. It's hard to tell what all of my symptoms are from, though, since I have so much going on. Cloudy brain, memory loss, tight aching body, vaginal itching, extreme fatigue and weakness, mood swings.... So maybe a little more than I wanted to share, but I have a need to be thorough--and that's not even the half of it! ha, ha. I haven't gotten very strict with my diet, although I don't eat much flour or junk food at all, lots of protein and veggies. But...something's got to be done. I need to do a cleanse of some kind, and get on a strong probiotic, but the Bio-kult is so expensive and I already spend so much on supplements (a bit obsessive, really), so I want to find one that will work for me in all ways. Any ideas and/or help would be much appreciated! (Sorry for such a long posting!) Thanks, M.
