Guest guest
OMG! Heck yes! Go to school board at least! This person does not need to be around children! This Really pisses me off! They don't have to like our As kids but they should do their job! He was telling me that he (my son) was locking himself in the bathroom and the aide wouldn't let him. Now I wonder why. he has a chill-out room that he usually goes to but then the aide would be right there with him. Anyway, found out yest a.m. that sub aide didn't even know my son's diagnoses (autism, anxiety -- hello!) and was treating him as a misbehaving child. We had a mtg and I thought things were good. Then find out last nite aide's going to be absent today. Fine, keep son home, husband and I will split day. Call from Principal this am that son ran out of room upset, crumpled up his paper and threw it on floor. Aide picked it up and threw it back at him. Then picked up a bean bag chair and threw it at son. Son was screaming. Lawsuit?

Guest guest
Yes, you might want to talk to a lawyer. Also they need to educate your child every day. You shouldn't have to keep him home - that's illegal. Not a lot of time but here's the main details. Old aide and sub aide come from an aide agency (not school employees). Guest guest
Wow! I think you do need to report it to the director of the special ed department. She should get fired. I'd also talk to a lawyer. Where do they get these people from? Seriously? How awful for your son. How is your son? Is he ok? I hope this lady get in some serious trouble. Guest guest
I'm not sure why they have hired an aide for a special needs child and this person hasn't read your son's IEP? But I would definitely make them get this person away from your child and find someone who can do the job. As for a lawsuit, I am not a lawyer so you really would need to find a lawyer who deals with sped needs and ask them for an opinion. The school is supposed to have people who are trained and also, of course, they must read and follow the IEP. Sounds like your ds has a behavior plan of some kind if he has a time out room/chill out room. Definitely meet with the school and find out what is going on and how they plan to fix this. Be sure to document everything that is going on in writing!
