I'm from the great state of Maine. I started on Lex 20 mg right off because I

had been on a high dose of Celexa. So, I had no side effects. Eventually, she

upped me to 30mg when I started to have moore depression. Then earlier this

summer, she upped it to 40 mg and I'm doing great now. More stable than I have

ever been in my life.

Where in Maine are you? My sister lives in Harpswell. Does anyone take Lexapro

for agoraphobia...I thought I'd ask 1 more time. Thanks, Terry

Hi , I am from Michigan! Go Wolverines! I stwitched from Celexa

40mg. to 20mg. of Lexapro so I didn't experience any side effects. Lexapro has

helped with my fear, anxiety and depression. Sometimes I have low energy.

I am going through a stressful time right now, with my 22yr.old son who is

struggling with heroin.

We are trying to get him in treatment asap. It's a long story and breaks my

Hi Everyone!

Hi folks. I haven't posted in awhile but have been lurking about.

I began the lex about 2 months ago and it is my first experience

with a psychotropic drug. It has helped with some social and other

anxieties but has not particularly lifted my mood. Before I add

another drug I need to get off my behind and exercise and try a

decent diet. Have any of you experienced an explosion of appetite

while taking these drugs? I could eat grass, I believe. Also, I'm

not sleeping more but seem to be sleeping more deeply and having

some very pleasant dreams. Odd.

At first I had headaches and mental fog but the side effects have

subsided. I cannot take it at night or I won't sleep at all.

Best to you all.

Have you found that it helps? Any side effects? I NEED to really start this med

Oct 1st. I need some incentive guys. :-) I fear the nausea very bad because I

have a fear of vomiting. :( Anything you can tell me to get me to take this, I

would really appreciate. Thank you. I plan on starting with 2.5mg a day. I sure

hope it works, I havent had a live in over 40 years. :( Terry

Terry,

I was like you about 2 yrs ago, started at like 2mg basically shaving it off a

pill and building up to 10mg but you don't really need to. I had been med free

even though I've had this since I was a teenager and I'm 48 now so alot of years

dealing with panic anxiety and agoraphobia in different degrees of intensity.

It would come and go but I've been with it for a year of two now. I don't have

trouble sleeping or working but alot of trouble with travel and I travel

practically every day. If I get out of my zone of comfort its a pain.

Anyway I started about three weeks ago at 5 and I am on 10 but I don't think

that is even much. I don't tell much difference.

So your concerns I had exactly the same the first time. The doc probably told

you to start at a 5 am I right. Anyway hang in there and you'll be fine with

it.

Thanks Mark! So the Lex is actually helping you to travel? The doc gave me 10

mgs sample packs, 4 of them. The expiration date is Oct. 06. I think they are

still ok to take, do you? He told me I could start with as low a dose that I

wanted. I'm not sure if I should have him give me new samples, or take these?

What do you all think? Terry

I went from a similar med to Lex and I never

experienced nausea at all. The only side effect I seem

to experience is the tiredness and weight gain. I also

deal with FMS which makes things even more difficult.

It's a wonder some days that I can even get up at all.

If I've had two or more active days in a row the next

day is spent sleeping a lot to regain energy of any

kind.

Not really, still there but I haven't taken it long enought I figure either.

I'm hoping it does but I don't know how yet. Maybe I will a little later.

I have a wierd anxiety problem. I sleep fine, I don't think I'm depressed but

I could be but gearing up for one of my long trips I get anxious and it doesn't

go away.

AK,

I've had sleepiness but it seems to be ok lately. I've been about 20-25

pounds overweight always so I'll have to wait and see on the weight gain or

loss.

Hi Terry,

Lexapro is supposedly one of those drugs that has the least number of

side effects. Chances of you feeling nausea when you start the med is

so slim. But if you're worried about it try eating a little something

before you take the pill. A lot of times nausea is caused by a pill

being the only thing in your stomach.

I'm glad you have a plan that will work for you, with the starting out

at 2.5mg. Just remember that it might take you a little longer to

feel a difference since you're upping so gradually, so don't give up

if you don't feel anything right away. Lexapro is supposedly at high

enough levels in your system after 2-6 weeks, and that's if you're

taking 5 mg for a few days and then upping to 10 mg.

Lexapro seems to work really well for a lot of people. I know when it

was first prescribed to me it was very helpful. For incentive... well

if you don't take it you'll never know if it could have helped you to

get your life back. :)

Dear ,

I am on Dr Myhill's protocol (www.drmyhill)and have a weekily

injection of Magnesium sulphate 50% 2ml. I've had them for over a

year. Dr Myhill prefers you to have a daily self administered

injection, but i'm not brave enough! You can down load her book for

free from her website and give it to your Dr (its very good).

I would say that Mg and B12 have been the two things that have helped

me the most. Although I would say they both build up over time, rather

than being an instant improvment.

Best of luck. Happy to give more info, back list if you wish.

It does indeed sound like electromagnetic sensitivity. Do you have

any alternative-type doctors that you could try seeing for this?

Anyone who advertises that they treat multiple chemical sensitivity

might also be helpful for electromagnetic sensitivity.

I've certainly got rid of many of the symptoms you've described

by taking vitamins, minerals, herbs, and glandular extracts to

support various organs (adrenals, thyroid, liver, pancreas, etc.)

I don't think you're going to get that sort of advice (or even

recognition that you have a physical problem, not a mental one)

from a medical doctor. You may also want to look at possible

heavy metal poisoning, either via dental fillings or other

sources, as there seems to be a connection with excess metals

in the bodies and sensitivity to EMF.

Also, if you're willing to experiment with EMF protection devices,

you might get some relief via that route. However, this

usually requires quite a lot of experimentation and trial

and error, and not everyone has the patience (or the

budget!) for this.

kim , im from australia , i dont know if you are anywehere near byron bay ,

there is an excellent herbalist/naturopath up there , and i know of a really

worldclass chinesse herbalist if you are in sydney ,  i also know of a very

good herbalist in brisbane. In the chinese system , it may be liver and kidneys/

spleen that are making your system worse , and causing the " anxiety " , even if

it is a western paradigm problem , i have found treating it along eastern

medicine lines  tends to help. My advice would be to try and sort things out in

oz as much as possible, its much cheaper than uk , and there is more of an

openess to alternative issues within the medical profession, also flying can

make things worse it can really upset the system on a long haul flight. I know

some good Gps if you get to byron and can give you names and details if you are

interested. Byron is probably one of the most healing places on earth , with low

emf, and lots of nature , if

you wanted to make it a base. Also lots of chi gung , meditation , emotional

suport groups etc there- so the doctors are all pretty much switched on.

Any way let me know if you need any info.

2 years ago I started a new job and after 1 month, I started having

anxiety type symptoms at work... i.e. heart palputation, short of

breath, feeling as if im about to pass out, loss of memory, and the

lights and comp at the office used to really spin me out etc. I was

rushed into hospital a few times or sent home a lot from work but

nothing came up on the blood tests. I went back to the docs and they

said i had anxiety but I just couldnt see it as am a happy person

normally. After the doc told me this, I did used to then panic in

shops and things but think he planted that in my head. I even went to

counselling and got put on medication but thats not me so after a year

of hell trying to work (which was on comps and had artificial lights

everywhere in the office)... I decided to go travellin alone and beat

the 'anxiety'. I am still travelling now and have been fine until ive

had jobs. I have been away for nearly a year and worked 4 months of it

and keep freaking out and having the same symptoms as before. I even

quit my job yesterday as just cant handle the lights in the office and

the computers. Is this electromagnetic hypersensitivity? (sorry dont

know if that spelt right). I truly believe it is but dont fully

understand it. Does this mean i should not go near comps and phones

especially after just reading about the long term affects and would

appreciate someone who knows about it to try sort my head out. Im even

flying back to england from australia coz of it but is it even safe

for me to fly with the radiation?

Any info would be really appreciated. I am very new to all of this

Yes, limiting your time around EMF sources can certainly help, as

long as you can still live the life you want -- EMF sources are

all over the place, with cellphones, cellphone towers, Wi-Fi,

televisions, florescent lights, etc...

Try conducting a test to confirm you have EHS.

First stay in an environment where you feel OK for

a few days (avoiding as much EMF as possible - no TV,

computer, cell phone, driving, etc.). Then sit in front

of a computer or talk on a cell phone. If you have EHS

you will feel ill symptoms within a short time.

Plane travel was OK for me.

If you have EHS prepare for drastic changes in lifestyle

and work. It can be disabling. Certain things can make me

much more susceptible, such as alpha lipoic acid. Not much

seems to help more than avoidance.

Anyone?

>

> Hello I would just like to know your views on what I should do. To put a long

story short I am an Australian dentist with a very good private job in

Australia. My fiancee would like me to move to the UK for 2 yrs after we married

so we we can settle down before we move back to Australia. Therefore, if I want

to work in the UK I need to pass the ORE exam as I am a recent graduate.

> So 1. Do you think its worth me moving to the UK and doing my ORE exam as I

intend to only live there for 2 yrs max.

> 2. How much study and how long do you think it takes on average to pass the

exams.. Like am I looking at months or years?

> 3. If I was to get some private work in the UK, what sort of salary would I be

looking at.

> Please any help would be very very very greatly appreciated. I have just heard

so much bad news about the ORE so I am really wondering what to do. And as you

guys are doing the ORE any guidance will be very sort after!!

> Thanks once again..
