Guest guest
Public education is different in EVERY state. Minnesota is a leader in charter schools - which are public schools that get the state share of school funding. They have sponsors and need to meet state requirements. Some other states have charter schools, but I'm pretty sure MN has the most. While MN has independent school districts, in other states, the states may run the schools or the county government or the city government. Some states have state curriculum. EACH state is UNIQUE. Minnesota Transitions School - Connections - K12 - whatever they are called in your state may be a FREE option - but that depends on how your state education system is set up and what options you have. You can choose your state at Connections Web site to see what the options are in your state. Even if you don't have a public school option for online learning, Connections does offer online learning as a private school. Sometimes - though not often - a school district or state special education department will authorize private school (paid for by the public school district) if the public school is unable to provide FAPE. That's rare in MN, but I'm not sure about other states. I'd suggest anyone with a child, special needs or not, to learn how their schools are structured and what options exist. It is funded by the public school > .... your tax dollars pay for this!! > let me know what you find out, hope its not different in your state , but i went > to the website for your state and it said all over the website it was free > tuition! Public schools dont like it because it takes away money from them!
