Guest guest
The hospital might help you to get service for him. There is a new law that any child under 18 with mental issues should be entitle to masshealth mental services. This includes an ICC (intensive care coordinator) that will help you to coordinate care including schools issuess and getting and advocate for the school. Also in home therapy services, a therapist will come to you house to help the family. Payed camp and after school program The dept of mental health also help with money for camp and after school program. No all Aspergers qualify for those services. It has to be other mental illness diagnosis to qualify for it.... My girl has PSTD, anxiety desorder and depression. I think that aspergers causes most of her mental issues... ( ) Re: Son in hospital(((hugs))) So sorry this happened! No personal experience with my children. But hospitals differ, you'll hear good/bad experiences. I imagine they will evaluate your son and adjust and/or change his medication, then release him when he's stable; and probably arrange a follow-up mental health appointment with a therapist or something (if he doesn't already have some type of therapist or case manager). Keep us updated! >> I had to admit my son with Aspergar's to the hospital yesterday. He went into an all out uncontrollable rage. We think his medication is no longer working, as it hasn't been changed in two years. Can anybody share their hospital experiences with me? Thanks!>
