Guest guest
it was the most unbearable experience of my life. The doctors admitted my calm son because he was hallucinating. When asked if the medication Concerta could be causing this he said no. My son is still having nightmares from that place and is wondering whenever we leave the house if someone is going to take him away, He is 12 and has never had a rage attack. From: gngrbnks <gngrbnks@...>To: Sent: Sat, July 10, 2010 11:43:18 AMSubject: ( ) Son in hospital I had to admit my son with Aspergar's to the hospital yesterday. Guest guest
(((hugs))) So sorry this happened! No personal experience with my children. But hospitals differ, you'll hear good/bad experiences. I imagine they will evaluate your son and adjust and/or change his medication, then release him when he's stable; and probably arrange a follow-up mental health appointment with a therapist or something (if he doesn't already have some type of therapist or case manager). Keep us updated! > > I had to admit my son with Aspergar's to the hospital yesterday. He went into an all out uncontrollable rage. Guest guest
Hi, My girl was just in the hospital for three weeks just after the school year ended. Panic attack, rage, etc. was the reason. She lost her dreamed summer camp, but she is much better now. Doctors switched her to two new medicines and things are getting slowly better. The crisis affected my relationship with my boyfriend...lifes goes on for us and that is what count. The first time she was admitted two years ago was heart broken, I came to the realization that she will be in and out of the hospital until something click in. She can not handle the stress of school and society. The hospital helped me to get services for her. She hates to take the medicine, they are sending a nurse to give it to her at home. She hates to take a bath and they are sending somebody to help me with that issue. They also recomend in home therapy so to help me to deal with her when she has seizure or/an a meltdown. I got a month free of summer camp for her payed for the dept of mental health. The nurse will teach me to give her first aid in case of a seizure and CPR. After the three weeks in the hospital I am physically and mentally burn down...bills are pilled over my computer desk, I am hoping I can have a "no event day" so I can call my creditors and let them now tha parcial payments are coming. Sometimes I feel that my daughter and I are in this bubble together. This bubble burst and there is an unexpected crisis... I hope you son gets better. Guest guest
What triggered the rage? Kids with AS can have mood disorders. The use of an antidepressant can sometimes eventually trigger a manic episode in someone that has a risk of bipolar. I read much more about bipolar kids being hospitalized to try and get a medication mix that works than I do other groups (AS or anxiety). I hope your son gets the help he needs!
