Guest guest
An idea: Find out what is triggering the destructiveness and see if you can get to the root of the problem. Also, others may have different opinions about this, but " punishment " usually doesn't work for kids on the spectrum. They have a hard time understanding consequences that go with an action - even natural consequences. Everything must be explained in detail. When I started to understand this, things got easier with my son. I would highly recommend the program called Positive Discipline. They have a website and the book by the same name is by Jane .
