Guest guest
Hi Pam, I have 3 sons, all grown (single mom). My son with HFA/Aspergers is 21 and will be in his 4th yr of college this fall. He also suffers from OCD. He went to our community college his first 2 years and then transferred his 3rd year to university, so got to live away from home! Other sons are NT; he has a twin, not identical, and my oldest is 25. > > My name is Pam and I have 3 teenagers with autism. Our oldest son is diagnosed with Asperger's. He has just finished his 1st year of college. Our twins suffer from autism profoundly and are non-verbal. They take a great deal of my research time, but now they are weeks away from adulthood and I am trying to come up to speed on our new status. Looking forward to learning what others have done for their adult charges. >
Guest guest
Very nice to hear of your son's success. I am determined that our oldest will also make it through. He has worked very hard to get where he is and has matured slower than his peers, but is catching up. He is finally saying he wants to be independent from me... and we are figuring out what that looks like and what it will take to get there....
