Have to chime in here. Our dd also attaches to things. My biggest worry came after I watched "hoarders" on TV. Wondered at what age does something like that start.

What we do in our home now is,,,she can "collect" for 3 months, then she must decide what happens to that collection. When it comes to photographs whether school pics of her classmates or others, I put them away after 3 months,,,,she will try and sleep with them. All other collections leave the house.

I do not allow her to take new items with tags attached into her room or I will have clean out that collection...................oh we gotta love them,,,keeps us on our toes.

We recently bought a new couch, our old one was in really bad shape and a little gross we kept it covered. When we went to throw the old one out my 11 year old had a melt down sat on the couch and would not move he then proceeded to grab one of the cushions and lock himself in the bathroom with it. He has since hidden it and does not want to give it up. He says it has memories. any suggestions on what i should do.
