Dear Wilma,

My name is Edna Gillam, and my grandson has Aspergers with ADHD. I have some ideas for you. First, have you filed for SSI, under Social Secuity. There is an alotment up to a $1,000 a month plus a medical card. Also which state, do you livein, we ar in Mahoning County, Ohio. I belong to Ruritians, which a volunteer community group, they can help. As well as Masons, Lions, Rotarty, and Easter Seals. Let me know, I will see who I can, put you in contact.

Here is a link for the headset my son uses with both his PS3 and his PC. You

don't need to do anything extra to make it work on the PC. He LOVES the thing.

He actually uses it to communicate with other people on games he likes to play.

It seems to give him some good practice at conversation and I can hear

everything HE says so I usually have a pretty good idea of what the other player

is saying. I can also look over his shoulder and see what people type. His

computer is next to mine in our " dinette " are (breakfast area? whatever). We

have all our computers in this area so I can work on my computer or cook and

still be close enough to keep an eye on what they're doing.

This headset cost us about $20 and I believe we bought it at a best buy store

rather than online.

My mother has also told me that I should be able to ge this for my son... I have heard horror stories about the process, but have had to stop working to help my son through this difficult emotional time and am begining to think that i may have to go through it regardless of how difficult it is. I live in franklin county ohio. Any advice?

Dear Wilma,

I don't know what state you live, we live in Mahoning County in Ohio. There is Easter Seal, Hearing and Speech Org. as well as Rotary, Rurtians, Mason's. Look in Phone Book, under volunteer groups as well as support groups.

Let me know what you found out, and we see where else we can look for help. If we all join together, and share information. I know with so things, governemt agencies don't tell, also use it or lose it.

Dear Wilma,

I was wondering if you ever got you headphones. I was going to say, did you try Easter Seal, Van Sickel Foundation, local hearing and speech center. Or even a chapter of the your local volunteer group, Rotary, Ruritian,Auti Mori, Shiners. These are some of the ones that I am aware of. hope this helps.
