Hi Patti,

I was just wondering if there's any Omega supplement out there for kids that doesn't give the "smell" later on.

Hi All:For about a year my 7 yo Aspie son was on Omega 3-6-9 supplements in conjunction with Vyvanse and Luvox, with really good results. We recently switched to Omega 3 supplements, and I'm noticing a huge increase in his impulsiveness, temper outbreaks, etc. The only change I can identify is the switch from Omega 3-6-9 to Omega 3 supplements. Am I imagining things? I'm thinking of switching back to the Omega 3-6-9 supplements because they just seemed to somehow be better, but I'm doubting myself.Thoughts please?Patti

Hi,

This is the first I have heard of this, but it sounds like something I would

like to try. I take them daily, due to having heart disease in the family, but

if it helps my son, I will gladly give it to him too. I do know there is entric

coating vitamins, that don't give the after taste.

Thanks for the information!

Hi Robin:I like the Nordic Naturals products for kids, but my 7 yo can take the gel capsules so we don't have to worry about the fishy smell. Believe me, I KNOW what that is like! My 4 yo can't swallow the gel capsules so I give him Barlean's Omega Swirl flax oil in his juice since it has a nice taste and no fishy smell. We've had good success with both the flax and fish oils. i noticed that difference too, i switched to 3s after reading everywhere that we get an abundance of omega 6s from diet so dont need them and taking them with 3s will mess up the 3 to 6 ratio in our diet.  however i noticed a negative difference when i switched to just 3s too

as for smell, nordic naturals or another flavored brand helps with that

Nordic Naturals capsules are the best we have come across, but they do sometimes have a nasty burp or so a few hours later- they process it differntly so it is fine cold but when it warms I think that is when the smell comes out

I have not noticed this or my child has not complaint about it. We have been using for years now. I noticed a difference when he is not taking them.

For fish oil (not liquid), supposedly if you put it in the freezer it still keep

them from having that fishy breath.

He he. Sounds like no matter what brand you use, it's gonna stink when you burp. He he.

Have I missed any discussion on whether 30/60 is better than just plain Omega's?
