Guest guest
This sounds like what happened when we lived in Hawaii. Where do you live? Mom to my 4 girls Madeline, Cayla, Arabella, & Vincenza "You are the TRIP I did not take You are the PEARLS I cannot buy You are the blue Italian LAKE YOU are my piece of foreign SKY" ---Anne ---- ( ) changing the school day Our school district is in the situation of going to a 4 day week in the future to help on financial costs. This would extend the day by 20 min. The kids would go to school 7:55 to 3:40. I am interested to see if anyone else's schools have had to do this and how it has affected your Aspie. Thank you so much. Lori
Guest guest
Missouri-it hasn't happened yet in our district but some of the districts around us are doing it.From: patricia <Zazoo81198@...> Sent: Sat, February 26, 2011 5:32:46 PMSubject: Re: ( ) changing the school day This sounds like what happened when we lived in Hawaii. Guest guest
I would be concerned and have an IEP meeting to address how to proactively help my child deal with all the changes that will occur. These changes need to go in his IEP and I would get some positive behavioral rewards lined up to help with the new changes. Defiantly will have a different IEP with many changes. There was a article in the newspaper this morning about a family who is going to have this change next year and how they feared it would affect their autistic child (this district is still a hr and 1/2 away from us). Their concerns were changes in the routine, the day being way too long and being out of routine at home with one extra day off. I think my child will adapt eventually. I would be concerned and have an IEP meeting to address how to proactively help my child deal with all the changes that will occur.
